I'm wondering what will happen with Bleach anime now when filler series is coming to an end.
Current episode (82) is, I believe, 19th filler (there were supposed to be 22).
In the meantime, there's about 45 new manga chapters currently, which means about 11 episodes material (used to be 4 chapters per episode, more or less).

Anyone know something?

It's very possible that Bleach fillers will continue until the Holiday season or whenever the Bleach movie is due out. Same with Naruto, most likely.. if not longer (I say longer since a Naruto movie is due out in August).

Hehe. The Bleah Skit. Yes, Bleah.

EDIT: Oh, the same people did a Bleach Infomercial.

Does anyone else here use VLC for all their media player needs? It's high awesomeness.

Oh and also, Yakitate!! Japan is great if you want something that'll make you think "HOLY censor.gif that was random!" and then promptly die laughing.

hehe psuedo fight scenes when describing the qualities of bread, not to mention the reactions from eating it roflmao.gif

Although it's kinda getting a little stale now... no pun intended.

Just finished watching Cowboy Bebop...made me sad. sad.gif

Anyone know what that music in the last bit of episode 26 is?

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was a very enjoyable and amusing series. It was funny without being overly silly, and had some of the best animation I've seen in a while.

The series is about a high school girl who is convinced the world is a very boring place, and had decided to take it upon herself to fix this. The world, however, is much less boring than she thinks.

Please note that the first episode is a parody of the series. It looks like a movie someone made in their back yard with a handcam and friends who can't act. Mostly because, well, that's what it is.

If you don't find it incrediably hilarious like I did, skip it. The series starts on episode 2.

Actually, episodes 2, 3, 5, 10, 13, and 14 are the actual series, and the rest are episodic character development episodes set after episode 14. The series doesn't care much for chonological order.

Shaman King pwns all others. (In my humble opinion which doesn't want to get shot down by angry SK-haters.)

happy.gif

But seriously. The anime is ultimate awesomeness... I just wish it were more well-known.

I watched the first three episodes - it was one of the worst anime I had ever seen, but that is my personal opinoin.

Didn't really like Shaman King...watched up to maybe 14. Seemed a bit stale. sad.gif

Beck is really great.

If you can stomach good music with badly engrish lyrics, yes. I enjoyed it.

Even though I, personally, was not made to hit in america.

Why is it that almost every single anime intro song just HAS to insert badly spoken English? Do the Japanese people know what it means? Of course, I've only seen two anime, but they both had little blips of English.

Know how american english is full of words of other languages, spoken badly? Like resume and fiancee, for instance? The same thing is happening to Japanese due to american influences. For many words, there is no japanese word, and so they use the american word with a heavy japanese accent, just like americans use foreign words with heavy american accents.

This does not excuse the times they randomly work english words into conversation or song that do not belong there. That's mostly because it's "cool" and "sophisticated" to do that in the Japanese vernacular. rolleyes.gif

I saw the Beck opening in anime club. I wanted to laugh so badly, but one of my friends was staring at the slide-screen with something like reverence. He was a mad Beck fan, so I didn't dare.

I like Tsubasa Chronicle, because the plot actually -moves-. Not like Naruto where each fight drags on and on and made me give up. Ouran no Host Club is good for laughs.
I love Digimon the most, but I refuse to acknowledge Digimon Savers. Everything about it made me cringe.

I'm honestly a huge fan of Berserk!.

Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is pretty good for a laugh.

Brad: Supposedly there was work on a revamped series that more closely followed the Manga, which actually had a decent ending. Unfortunately, I've not heard much about it lately, so the project may have gone under.

On a mildly related side note, I love the Helsing opening theme.

The problem I had with Tsubasa Chronicles is that, well, it's happyclamp. Seen one thing by happyclamp, you've seen them all. Cardcapter Sakura, Angelic Layer, Magic Knights Rayearth... it's all the same. The same feel, absurdly predictable, cheesy in a good way, "Rawr! We defeat evil and overcome opposition!" kind of show (Angelic Layer being the best out of those four, IMO). It's not BAD by any means, but there's only so much of it you can take before going, "Yeah, yeah, heard it all before."

Besides, the only honestly good sliders-esque plot I've seen so far was in Noein dry.gif The anime about quantum mechanics where all the presents, pasts, and futures are in superposition and the main character is the only objective observer in existance smile.gif

If you like anime where stuff happens, don't watch series aimed at young children. They often ramble on and don't go anywhere. Naruto, One Piece, Dragonball Z, et cetera.

If you like that genre of silly, I sure hope you've seen Excel Saga tongue.gif The first episode of that is so amazingly funny. The rest isn't bad either if you like that sort of thing, and you seem to tongue.gif

For those who like samurai anime, Shura no Toki (Age of Chaos) is really good. Set during the Heian period of Japan, the story follows three generations of the Mutsu clan, a family of warriors who fight with no weapons. The first two plot arcs are based on Japanese legends, and the third plot arc is highly historical, set during the Meiji Restoration.

If Japanese history doesn't interest you in the slightest, episodes 15-26 might not be terribly interesting, as they are a romanticization of the last of Japan's "glory days," before the Meiji Restoration brought drastic changes to Japanese culture through foreign influence. With the exception of Mutsu Izumi of course, everything that happens in this plot arc is actual Japanese history, in the same way the events of the anime movie, "Trust and Betrayal," set during the same period, are.

The characters alone make the series worth watching. It's action anime, but without gore and stuff - the focus is on the characters and why they are fighting, more than on the fighting itself. There are no weird magical fantasy elements, except of course for the standard one man taking on twenty and wining, and people with swords dodging musketballs, with cherry blossoms floating in the background, as one would expect in any samurai anime.

Paranoia Agent. Episode 8 especially.

Other than that, I don't watch much anime.

Anyone know if Bleach: Memories of Nobody is out? Or when it's supposed to be? I read December but no sign of it.
