What's funny about me and Death Note is that I didn't read the manga nor watch the anime (yet), but I recognise most... some characters. Okay, I recognise L. Also someone spoiled me the ending, but I was prudent enough to forget it.

I want to watch death note, but I forgot what episode I was up to. How many are there?

I wish I could force myself to read Bleach again. I loved it, but then lost all dled stuff. I redled it...but I can't force myself to read it, for some reason.

King of Hell is a really cool manga, Addicted to Curry is pretty funny too. I really like Love Hina, and the series of the same author, Mahou Sensei Negima (Sp). Also, Tenjo Tengue is pretty awesome. For a bit more mainstream, Eden is damn cool, but starts to get boring with all that crystal stuff. I liked it more when the main was an aspiring mafioso.

Okay, this is about anime. Anime, I'd have to say, The Melancholy of Harui Sakura. SO AWESOME.

Well, I started watching Death Note on that site Richter made a thread about. I just finished Episode 10 and IT'S SO DAMN GOOD.

Also, none of the Bleach characters look anything like their actual ages. Nor do the Naruto characters, come to think of it...or people from things like Law of Ueki. They're supposed to be 13-14 year olds!? (had to ask for what middle school meant, but yeah) It's just a general trend. Ichigo is supposed to be 15 too.

EDIT: And what the heck is Eden, Ash? It sounds like you're talking about Elemental Gelade, since the girl has a crystal and the guy is an aspiring sky-pirate, and they're looking for "Eden Garden" (or whatever it gets mangled as)...

I don't know. The Naruto ninja kids look like kids, save maybe the 'genius'...That's mostly because of their hair and eyestyle >.> Sasuke or Gaara wouldn't look childlike as chibi, for example. The rest DO look young, they actually keep to almost western proportions (which I'm quite amazed at, considering it's an anime.) But the older kids after the time skip (teenagers) almost have the proportions of adults, so I guess I agree there.

How old are the Naruto characters supposed to be after the timeskip? They look much much much much more appropriate to their age than Bleach. To be fair, Ichigo should be 16 now, right?

allow me to nerdarize you , I belive naruto has been away for two and a half years of training , which would make them two and a half years older giving the clan the time they needed. but I Don't know exactly what age they started out as.

Anyway currently watching Nodame Cantibile, its pretty funny and interesting. Also watching Bleach and Naruto as is almost everyone else.

It's all about the Overgrown Japanese Monster (OJM) syndrome - when the characters act, and ESPECIALLY look much older than what they're supposed to be, more than it's possible to rationalise due to their dramatic past, heavy training or a generally large power level of the theme.

Bleach characters are heavily OJM. Naruto characters are moderately OJM. Edward Elric is very slightly OJM, albeit not really Overgrown - on the contrary. Ikari Shinji is an awful emo, but at least he's not OJM.
