I finally got my hands on Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
My reaction: wow.

Just went and saw, at Shorlen's recommendation, Paprika. Good film. Pretty surreal. Enjoyable though!
I've heard it's good. I have never been told what it is about though

Show me a person who'd say "wow" about Melan ... too long title... about MoHS in a bad way, and I'll show you hateful lies.
Shiri2007-08-21 00:38:05
Heh. The first episode put me off, I had to watch a few more episodes to really "get it."

Paprika is some weird movie about these scientists/psychologists who develop a machine that can let you share people's dreams, only someone steals a copy that they've been using for psychological therapy and drives some people mad with it.

But the first episode was absolutely hilarious! I have to admit that I've seen episodes 2 and 3 before it (because of a, cough, download issue), but I think I'd find it hilarious even if I saw it first.
As a side note, episode 2 had me really interested but not 100% captivated yet, I had to wait to see episode 3 to experience that.

The first episode was amusing, especially the part with the cat whose name I forget, but I didn't really have any idea what was going on, and hadn't worked out that that was the point yet.

Three days later, I'm done watching.
When's the second season starting? Cubey wants now!

TBA.

Oh well. Guess I'll just have to re-view the episodes when I feel like it then. I do that with Firefly (favourite series of mine so far) and I'm not sick of it yet. And there's still the manga!
The culmination point of the final episode was predictable: I mean, both Mikuru and Yuki mentioned
EDIT: I'm going to watch Death Note next. Last year's anime - wow, I'm almost up to date. Scary.

Snow White
, gee - I wonder what could have they meant? Doesn't make the series any less awesome though - I guess I have to nitpick a weak point to everything I watched and liked, it runs in my family.EDIT: I'm going to watch Death Note next. Last year's anime - wow, I'm almost up to date. Scary.

I should warn you that death note starts amazing, but tapers off rapidly after
L dies (filling out space so it isn't immediately obvious just from looking at the tags).
Unknown2007-08-23 01:16:43
I knew that already- that's too bad, but I'm still gonna watch it though.
Shiri2007-08-23 01:21:26
Fair enough.
Unknown2007-08-23 01:22:45
Yea, I'm about half way through death note. I loved the first part but it's starting to get a bit meh for me.
Unknown2007-08-24 01:43:21
My favorites:
Outlaw Star (too bad there was only one season)
Ghost in the Shell (all movies and series are well done)
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke...
...pretty much anything by Miyazaki

Death Note is put on hold, my brother took an intiative to obtain Cowboy Bebop and I watch only one show at a time.
I saw two episodes already. I like it. Fun, and fantastic music. Animations is a bit old by current standards (it isn't even 10 years old - progress really is amazing these days) but I don't mind.

Deathnote is meh, the first part is interesting and cool, but the second half just seems repetitive and gets boring.
Cowboy Bebop is pretty cool, even if the majority of it's just random non linked battles leading up to a pretty sad ending, the movie is pretty cool though.

Also, as a side note:
Query: Is Yuki Nagato awesome?
Statement: Yes, she is.

Yuki rocks.
"Spellcasting" alien style rocks. (It is said it was actually an actual "script" for a "program", just fast forwarded )
I wish I had an eye beam as well.

Look what thread I found!
What I am watching now: Bebop (yeah, I know, I'm slow) and Fullmetal Panic (some episodes are weaker, but overall it's cool. Strange mix of funny and serious episodes, almost FMA-like)
What I finished watching recently: FLCL. That must be what taking drugs feels like.
