you know... not many people like Anime, especially in high school. I am sure if I told anyone I think DBGT and YuYu Hakusho is alright, I would be shunned.
on the other hand, Family Guy, Futurama, The Simpsons, and sometimes King of the Hill are all acceptable. Family Guy and Futurama are my favorite
woot for crappy yet absolutely hilarious American animation!

Woot for Family Guy! Three cheers for Matt Groening in general. Hiphip (The Simpsons!). Hiphip (Futurama!). Hiphip (Family Guy!)

I experienced that myself... I think that in my country about 99% of people (at least those who KNOW what Anime is) don't like Manga/Anime. But, guess what? I ignored them.
Anyways - yup, the Simpsons and Futurama are hilarious. Didn't see any Family Guy episodes (only heard about it and saw some TV pseudo-commercial thingies), so can't say. But Matt Groening cannot fail!
Nika2005-01-12 13:21:59
It caters to my sense of humour so much. It's like the Simpsons, with more adult-orientated jokes.
Shiri2005-01-12 16:39:45
I cannot stand that program, it's like the Simpsons with more adult-orientated jokes. *is a prude*

ive never seen it but my Girlfriend says Inu Yasha is pretty good , other than that im gonna go SIMPSONS!
Unknown2005-01-12 17:45:06
Is it just me, or have we just officialy declared the Simpsons to be an Anime? Well... their eyes ARE larger then normal after all.
Nika2005-01-13 07:13:09
Ehehehe, Shiri. You're so cute.
Yay Inu Yasha!
Yay Inu Yasha!

Just a small point for Family Guy that you youngins probabbly don't know... The Show's intro is a Huge spoof on "All in the Family" which is an even funnier show.
Inyu yahsha is good, heck anything that Adult Swim shows is good. And Shoshana, I wasn't aware that the Ghose in the Shell series had any connection between on episode and the next, but then again, I only watch it maybe once every three weeks.

Yeah, it does. Well, I think the first few episodes of the first series might have been unconnected, but an overarching plot begins to emerge pretty quickly. It's weird though, because the episodes are still quite episodic, if you know what I mean, but they do contribute to the larger picture as well. Has the Laughing Man been mentioned yet? The stuff about him is the main storyline...
I'm not overly fond of Inuyasha myself... It was good until I realised that it was the same thing over and over again and I didn't really like any of the characters enough to want to watch it just for their sake (Although I do love Shippo). I guess it's probably better if the main character doesn't annoy the hell out of you like he does me...

No I'm not, you shush.
Shippo ROCKS though. He was my MSN avatar thing and background for forever. (I then put up a Sesshy one to amuse Jill, then FMA and Kodama and so forth. *hum*)
I have to agree with your assessment of InuYasha as a whole though. Seemed good till someone got me to watch Naruto and FMA and so forth. (Also, since the FMA download has permanently screwed up and I'm unable to get it, can anyone point me to somewhere nice for Read or Die?)
Daganev2005-01-14 08:20:16
damn, I'll have to watch it more often, yeah I've seen a laughing man episode. Thought the idea of hacking into people's everyday eyesight is just sooo cool. Imagine walking around and anybody you didn't know personally had a fuzzy square over their face, like on COPS... how cool is that?
Shiri2005-01-18 13:10:41
Hurray, now I have a half decent torrent client (Read: it actually WORKS, yay BitLord) I can go and find some RahXephon and all that other funky stuff. Also got to watch GITS:Innocence but had idea wtf was going on. Also my parents wouldn't shut up and turn the kettle off because the headphones broke and due to THEIR logistical brain fart the computer I can watch anime on because it doesn't SUCK is in the kitchen. YAY PARENT LOGIC. >_<
Also yay Bleach 14. The shop people coming to help was fun. I want the soundtrack to that thing dangit.
STILL no FMA, because of dead torrent things. And animenova is down so I can't get Read or Die either. Does anyone know a RELIABLE place for these things? *peer Suprnova dying*

Perfect Blue is the singularly most odd and disturbing thing I have ever seen apart from the (Japanese) Ring. It still gives me shivers.
Shiri2005-01-18 13:15:16
Never heard of the former, will have to look into it! And I have heard of Ringu, didn't they steal that for an English thing? (And Silent Hill. Or one of them.)
Shoshana2005-01-18 14:55:44
Hehe, you haven't seen Innocence yet Nika... Although I'll admit I haven't seen Perfect Blue.
Unknown2005-01-19 00:23:07
My current ultimate favourites are Witch Hunter Robin and InuYasha. WHR was slow in the beginning but it all adds to the exciting and dramatic plot afterwards. Those are the only animes I get to watch regularly anyway
I especially love the music from all animes, always make sure to get them...especially the movies, so awsome.
Ahh there's so much anime out there, I have to watch them all!!!! Not a fan of downloading shows though Too many kiddie animes on television, need more adult ones. Erm yeah that's my little spiel...

I've just started watching Naruto, and I'm finding it quite good. I do however dread the day I have to wait a week for the next episode, but until then, it's a half dozen a day.
Dan2005-01-22 09:24:08
I do the best imitation of Zoidberg you have ever seen... I discovered this talent recently. Its awesome, like being tall.

Yeah, it sucks with that and Bleach.
Also, has anyone who's downloaded the full 26 eps of Read Or Die from Lokitorrents ever managed to get it to LET ME PLAY MORE THAN EPISODE 4 DANGIT?! Because I liked the 4 first ones, they were really interesting! But it won't let me see any more! *mutter* Anyone know how to fix that? (Bleach 14 rocks by the way. Urahara's gang is so cool. Even the annoying redhead. )
