I would like to see more divine doing crazy things to people who openly say things agaisnt them in shouts or whatever, like removing their tongues or zapping them or what not.
People should fear the gods no matter what "side" they are on.

Yes. I agree wholeheartedly. Ditto. Amen.
Melanchthon2004-12-11 09:03:25
Publicly challenging an idea or concept is fine, but you have to remember Who you're talking to when you do it. Disagreement, yes, disrespect, zap zap!
Richter2004-12-11 10:01:03
I like creative punishment, like the first time someone was turned into a maggot, I'm sure it was quite impressive.
Lisaera2004-12-11 11:28:03
I'm quite fond of removing tongues actually... you would be surprised how difficult it is to do anything in an interaction-based world when you can't talk to anyone.
Unknown2004-12-11 12:28:38
The way I see it, the Divine were born on Lusternia and it's their land, which they now share with the mortals, which are in actuality subjects of their old Elder God friends. So yes, if a Divine finds anyone openly insulting them, there should get a zappin'.
On a seperate note entirely, my horrible son on Aetolia (thankfully suicided), had his tongue ripped out by Niuri.

The reason we don't zap much is mainly because there are days when you just want to zap everyone to get some peace and quiet.
Unknown2004-12-11 17:13:26
Theres a difference between fearing and respecting. Nep doesn't -fear- any god but they get their due respect. Doesnt mean Im kissin butt though if I disagree - sorry.
Now if someones being extraordinarily retarded, zap em.

Bah, people have a horrible concept of what Gods are in Lusternia. On Imperian, Iriaen would run around defiling Janus' shrine, killing his order heads and all that jazz. And yet when they met face to face, Iriaen bowed. That's how you handle Gods.
Sabriel2004-12-11 19:36:11
personally, NOT FEARING a God in the game is just horrible RP.
we have evidence of the god's power right in front of our eyes, and should all be god-fearing folk...now does that mean we can't respectfully oppose them? no. we can still defile, kill order members, etc.....i just dont get you people sometimes

Like when Erion was asphyxiated by a jellyfish.

As the player behind a Magnagoran, it seriously annoys me when people sit over CT joking about how they constantly kill people right in front of gods.
"Yea mang dood I just killed this one guy right in front of Terentia!!"
From an IC perspective, theres a high chance your character wouldn't even think of doing that. But most people look at it and see a staff member of the game who can't intervene too much with the players, so they gladly test their limits.
I vote the Gods start making up fun and creative zap messages that they can use on players and start actually using the things
Don't think I've seen someone zapped here yet, to tell the truth...

I want to see someone get turned into a little flower, only with their own face, but with petals and things, rooted in the ground. So they can't move, or do anything that would involve their arms and stuff, they can just talk.
And, and, maybe someone could be turned into one of those cats in Celest. Only not so much turned into the cat, as have their consciousness stuck in the cat's head, so they just watched while the cat did things (walked around, groomed itself, got picked up and snuggled by Isune, 'met' a tomcat, etc). And when people looked at the cat, they'd see a nametag on it, and cackle.
Hey, it's creative, not to mention punishment.
More fun than shrubberies.

Or if they got turned into a frog. All they can do is randomly hop around. And people can SQUISH them if they want.
Qaletaqa2004-12-11 23:09:21
I would like to see more Divine Intervention. I mean it can be abused I suppose but if they are patroning the city don't they get to do anything? How about resurrecting people? What if they are defending within the city walls?
Unknown2004-12-11 23:16:19
I don't know. When I have conflict with Gods, if it's a problem with my beliefs or how I think something should be handled, I do it anyways. If they smite me, fine, whatever, I did what I thought was right. Prove me wrong? Okay, I'll be humble about it and correct myself.
I have alot of faith in myself to do the right thing.
This is actually really dependant on the situation. She might if you killed her Ordermembers in front of her. Although, I slew Silvanus and ran off Daganev in front of her in defence of her Fulcrux. Justification of the action, I suppose.

Actually, We could very easily be very nasty to players a lot of the time, We just like you guys too much.
Nobody has ever been outrightly disrespectful towards Me or done anything tremendously stupid in front of Me, so that is likely why you've never seen Me execute anyone.

I think the Gods should zap the heck out of folks who're disrespectful. Or even better, do crazy stuff like the Greek Gods used to do to folks who ticked them off. Send plagues of flesh eating insects after them or turn them into hideous creatures that every mob in the game is compelled to attack on sight cause of their freakish grossness.
It's crazy that a mere mortal should be able to back-talk a God, ya know?

*stays far away from Amajos* though, some of those punishments seem curious
