Not all warrior archtypes are knights you know.
*snicker* Yeah, that's a good one.

Sure they are. That's why they learn Knighthood and wear knightly armour...
Richter2004-12-11 01:54:26
Heh, I have a hammer that's faster than arti rapiers, maybe I'll rune that.

Pff, Guardians are pretty much fine! Wicca could use some downgrading though. (Well, Wiccans ARE kinda like forestal guardians)

Personally I do think guardians need more work especially their secondary skills have problems like Healing. However, Mages need the most work I think. If I take 1000 damage to Daevos with full chain armour and a 58 cutting tower shield then I can only imagine what they are taking with cloth armour.
Jalain2004-12-11 05:05:21
Personally, I think the weapons should still decay. Maybe at half the speed, but still decay, and the rune reset back to your inventory for you to find another weapon for you to use the rune on. That way, it will still be a more powerful weapon, but forgers will still get continued business.
If you get a weapon that doesn't have the max stats, and later find one that does, can you remove the rune and put it on the new weapon?

Captain Avarath has stated many times that Ur'guard are not "knights"
Hazar2004-12-11 08:23:37
They're...let me guess...Ur'Guards?
Daganev2004-12-11 08:47:11
no, *gasp* warriors.
Avarath is a Captain... not a ship captain an Army Captain....
If The Paladins are Crusaders, the Ur'guard are Mongolians.

Good point. Hexes too. I was thinking more of their actual guardian fixed skills, a la Nihilism/Celestialism and Sacraments/Necromancy. And Wicca/Moon of course. ESPECIALLY WITH NEW MOON CHANGES YARR GO TEAMWORK.

Sorry to revive a dead topic, but with regards to the great runes, can they also be traded in for upgrade like other artifacts? Thankee
Roark2004-12-28 21:14:20
I don't know. E-mail support@lusternia.com. They will know the exact policies on that sort of stuff.
Daganev2004-12-28 22:09:35
I ideaed this as a possible bug I did not want to test, but what happens if you accidently smelt a weapon with runes on it?

That should be impossible.
Gwylifar2004-12-29 18:09:16
I was told you can't remove them, you can't transfer them, and you can't upgrade them, so you'd better have the perfect sword before you buy one, and don't plan on getting better ones later.
Now, a bit of pontification: I know from past experience that I personally will spend more on credits for artifacts if I can upgrade later, so I don't much like this no-upgrades policy. (That said, I did buy a pair of runes during the sale even though I don't have the swords to carry them.) I'd be even more likely to buy this kind of stuff if I could transfer them to a new sword later (but let that process take a month, so you can't do it casually).

Removing them and transfering them is impossible, just like those collars for mounts. Though that's not a huge deal since the temper skill makes it easy to get your sword or bludgeon exactly how you want it before attaching the runes. The point is to let you have artifact weapons like in Achaea but not restrict you to certain stats and certain sword descriptions. You choose the stats and description you want (but with no added on customization charge like Achaea). Transfering the rune would be exactly equivelant to Achaea letting you change from a vorpal longsword to a vorpal broadsword on a whim.
As for a ban on upgrading the runes, that sounds like a rumour, not a policy, since it's never been stated in the announce posts. E-mail support@lusternia.com if you want to know the actual policy. (I honestly don't know exactly what it is, but I seriously doubt there is a ban since all the other artifacts have a trade-in policy.)

I emailed support and asked them, and they replied:
Which is sort of disappointing. In the time it'll take me to save up for a Vernal rune, the weapon will probably decay

I’m interested in purchasing a Puissant Knight great rune to attach to a weapon. Could you please tell me whether it’ll be possible to upgrade the rune at a later date if it’s already been attached to a weapon?
Gwylifar2004-12-30 00:17:22
Aye, what I wrote came straight from support@lusternia.com's reply to me.
Worse yet, they want 50 credits to customize the description of an artifact that only cost 37 credits, even when I wrote the description (all three parts, and the grammar is ready-to-paste) already. Blah; fifty credits for a change that's purely for RP purposes to a description no one is likely ever going to see anyway?
Wouldn't be so bad, but the three pipes available... well, I'm sure there's someone that they'd suit, but no one I know. The one I wrote would suit almost any blademaster better than any of the listed ones, and it's simple and tasteful. I was hoping they might decide to just offer it as a fourth choice to everyone. Guess I'll have to stick to smoking from a snake; blech. At least I'll get to roleplay being disappointed in the pipes Bob sells.

Someone mentioned that they would decay before you saved the runes for it. Have a forger repair it to keep it from decaying, most do it for cheap.
Thorgal2004-12-30 12:41:43
I think at the exceedingly low prices great runes are sold, not being able to trade them in is very reasonable, I mean... I payed only 112 creds for a blade that's better than the 1600 cred soulpiercer from achaea.
Roark2004-12-30 13:12:33
The 50 credit unique one-of-a-kind design is standard for any item across all IRE. That really is unrelated to the runed weapons.
