I've managed to trans two skills, and I'm very close to transing a third. I've got most skills around Expert, with a couple at about virtuoso. None of the credits were bought OOC, but some were traded to me for scripts or Achaean credits. I think it's rewarding to buy credits in the game, although we obviously need someone to sell them to us.

Trans all three guild skills, planar, and get a trade skill and trans that.

I buy credits OOCly for selling gold and stuff, but I used to do bardics for learning and all. It's up to you. If you're on a good rate right now then keep it up.

About two years ago I played A lot of Imperian. For about 3 months I played Imperian, constantly. By constantly, I mean 12+ hours a day, on a typical day. Yes, I had A LOT of free time then, I was transitioning into what I am currently doing now, which keeps me from such insane amounts of play time (which I would never do again by the way). I did not buy a single credit via OOC then, I didn't believe in it at the time. I had transed FIVE skills over the 3 months I played. All the credits were earned, with only one very small gift from somebody who won a small amount of credits. That gift was something like 5 credits or whatnot. That was on Imperian, where the credits at the time cost 7-8k a piece. I was generating 15-20k gold an hour from a collective total of various quests + supplemental fishing during down time. I didn't do those activities ALL the time, but I certainly did them most of the time, and in fact it got sickening.

I will NEVER put myself through that crap again, and now I will buy credits OOC to get the functionality I want. Not to say I wont earn them ingame, but I certainly am not going go it ingame only. I don't have the time, or the desire to put that much effort into doing ingame only again. Forget it!

Herbalists are notorious for buying credits with gold. So you dont count.

I was more so trying to make a point anyone can get skillz.

I've only gotten about 5,000 credits or so from the herbs. The other 18,000 or so came from other sources.

And, I've been trying to make the same point for a long, long time. Most people just stare blankly or shrug and walk away. "Sure, it's easy for you, but my life is considerably more difficult!"

Rich from all that hard work! Herbs was my first trans skill, and I bought the Gloves of Harvesting as soon as I was able to afford them. Best investments I ever made. Still, I spend many, many hours hunting down, harvesting, and replanting the herbs (yes, even more hours than those who stand at the forge slaving away, except that I don't get to go pseudo-AFK).
