I would recommend against such things. Despite being a navy town, there's still a chance to get mugged for those fancy blades. Norfolk and Newport News are still ranked 3rd and 4th most dangerous cities in Virginia, respectively. Welcome to Bad News, VA.

Geez that area isn't that bad, during the day anyway. There are real bad parts of Norfolk, but Military Circle has undergone a big renovation. Newport News likewise has some real nice areas and some real BAD areas (ie the Shipyard area)

Mmm, actually, Norfolk is very liberal, like most cities. I don't know about the naval yards though.

How has ODU been? I'm currently attending Christopher Newport, but after 2 semesters of dealing with the administrations bullshit , I'm seriously considering transferring next year. I'm wondering if should try ODU instead of Tech as a safety school, should W&M not accept me. I'd prefer to stay in the Hampton Roads area.

I like ODU, it caters well to non-traditional students like myself. Good staff overall and a nice campus. Traffic is worst thing I have to deal with there.

ODU looked nice. Only drove by it like a bajillion times while I was there that weekend. -.- Im excited bout going to ITT though *does a lil dance*

I spent 4 years at ODU. Real good engineering school. Interesting place though, mostly black. Now, I'm not racist at all, but in catering to the majority of the students, all of the school events had nothing but rap, rappers, important black people, and basketball stars. Just a heads up. I just never showed up. Its not my thing.

I spent all my time in school chilling at Virginia Beach. Sand + water = good.

And having been through Florida and Carolina Beachs, I must say that I dislike Virginia Beach considerably.
