Live in the lovely city of Tampa, so I caught 2 of the hurricanes leaving the state and the big boy coming into the state. Damn you Charley! *shakes fist at sky*

Too bad you guys are on the east coastish, and missed the cool windstorm we had the day after Xmas. About 5 am, we got 60 MPH wind gusts out of NOWHERE, and I stood outside and just watched power boxes blow up all over Tampa. Looked like we were under attack with just massive explosions everywhere.

What a wonderful state we live in where Tropical Storm force winds just appear out of nowhere. I can't wait for next hurricane season....*cheer*

I mark myself as the lucky mofo. I live in Florida, the Keys to be precise. You know, the chain of islands pretty much unaffected this year by Hurricanes, minus the traffic caused by pre-mature evacuaters from the Ivan scare.

I, personally, avoid them. Simply because last time I was in one, a woman felt me up, which just disturbed me. Then I found it it had a penis. Then I was just irritated. And confused. But mostly irritated.

But, yes, there are quite a few good bars.

Not sure if your local news is droning on about this as much as mine is, but I want opinions.

Do you think the next hurricane season will be Less/about the same/More as compared to the last one we had. Hard to fathom one that is worse than the 4 that hit the state in 2 months, but some nutball from the Hurricane Center was saying that with the El Nino like conditions setting up, we could get more. He mentioned between 4-8 named storms could hit Florida in the upcoming season.

I didn't get much damage, but I would rather have a nice down year.

I am rather close to Florida, about a four hour drive from Panama City. Alabama chick here!

Panama City Beach was nice when I was in HS, but it looks like a dump to me now. Same with Daytona, but I guess that comes from getting a little older.

Is Alabama the state with the 21 and up for cigarettes? I drove from Tampa to New Orleans one year and stopped for cigs in either Mississippi or Alabama, and almost got arrested. Went from 18 for cigs in FL, to 21 there. *weep*
