Well, I must confess, it's less of a scanner problem and more of a computer problem. Y'see, I have both a windows (XP) and a mac (OS 8.9 or something, haven't used it properly in a while) and the mac is the only computer hooked up to the scanner. Thanks to my dad's work, it has Photoshop (3.0, and I would be able to work fine with that if the mouse weren't so icky, and the computer had RAM enough to work with more than one layer). I save pictures as .jpg usually, occasionally .gif, to transfer over to my windows (so I can upload them, store them, whatever, as the mac has only a couple mb free on the harddrive), only the windows doesn't like opening them. At all. Sooooo, unless I upload from the mac (which is really and truly a *cough* to do), I'm useless in the art department.
