What a lovely, thought-provoking, well-reasoned post. It fair brings tears to my eyes.

Why must everything be carried over from the other IRE MUDs?
Faethan2004-12-12 06:27:55
If you want a falcon go play Achaea. Lusternia is a different realm and one of the things I like best about it is that, unlike Imperian, they did not play cut and paste with a bunch of things from Achaea. Well...they did with the help system. But not the areas and skills.

*pokes some cut-and-paste Tarot cards*

Sorry, I couldn't help it.

New suggestions for abilities are good, but that's sorta what your Envoy is for. I'd rather see warriors gain a kind of free mount, myself. Mages do, and I would think the 'knights' would be better suited for that, RP-wise.

This is Lusternia.

And by the way, spell your titles correctly.
Unknown2004-12-12 11:02:50
HELL no, no way is Lusternia turning into Achaea all over again in that respect. Besides, they don't actually 'need' falcons at all. Didn't seem like they were having that much trouble to me..? Not after the bug fixes.

ps: falcons = lame, at least Imperian's hellhounds and the like were original and cool.

Lofts a bound falcon up in the air like a baseball and hits it with his bat hard as he can.
Unknown2004-12-12 17:05:47
Faclon pet?
Then you can have a falcon - you win.
Everyone else can laugh at you - they win.
You give me some credits - I win smile.gif.

I'm predicting that the Wyvern Riders get a falconry-esque skill. You know, except, a wyvern. Just a pimped out mount, maybe.

That's the word on the wind, so there's a fair chance.

A God in development spill a secret and tell you this? If so, might just be believable. But if it's rumours derived by those hoping for it to be returned, fat chance.

Also, Warrior Archetype is great now, we have no use for a falcon.
Unknown2004-12-12 20:48:42
I think the paladins should atleast get a loyal horse steed

Nihilists= demons and skeleton things

Aquamancers= Turtles

Celestines= Angels

Wicca= Faes

Hartstone= Stag

Ur'guard= skeleton things

serenguard= I dunno
Gol2004-12-12 20:49:04
No use for falcons. Very true. But I think we should get some kind of riding skill in knighthood. I know it is part of the stereotype - But it would make some sense if we maybe got the ability to ride light horses, or warhoses. Maybe even the ability to ride one specific mount, sold by a stable in our guildhall or near?

EDIT: And the things made by raisedead... don't last long, and as far as I know, can't be commanded...
Bricriu2004-12-12 21:13:59
Shiro, you are aware the 'skeleton things' you listed for the Nihilists and Ur'guard are not 'loyal ents' in the way people are asking, correct?

They are the corpses of players we kill, then raise again, if we choose to do so. Thus, why you can see ghouls, or others sorts of things, too. It depends on the player you kill then raise.
Unknown2004-12-12 21:53:15
Sorry, I saw a Nihilist raise one before and thought they were loyal

On the topic of Gaudiguch's and Hallifax's warrior guilds - I really hope they aren't knights. For one, knights don't exactly fit the ideals of chaotic Gaudiguch or cold, logical Hallifax. Not to mention, after three guilds the knight thing is a little played out. They got boring after Achaea, let alone Aetolia and Imperian too.

Besides, there are so many options, it'd be a crime not to explore another avenue! Warriors using different signature weapons, different styles, perhaps using mounts too, whole different codes of honour... I can't wait happy.gif
Unknown2004-12-13 15:32:33
The Gaudiguch warrior guild is most likely going to be "Wyvernriders" whether they have knighthood or not, nobody knows except the people working on it/planning it. Id personally like to see them with some polearm mastery instead of blade/blunt.
Unknown2004-12-13 20:45:05
And the polearms could take two hands... I saw someone suggest that sometime. All weapons are one handed right now, shouldn't some be twohanded?
Roark2004-12-13 20:49:04
Ever notice those weapon classes in forging that are currently useless...? wink.gif
