A racial one for aslaran (possibly other races with long, flexible tails as well):

CURLTAIL

1st person untargetted - You curl your tail up around yourself snugly.
3rd person untargetted - Gwylifar's tail twitches a bit and then curls up snugly around him.
1st person targetted - You curl your tail affectionately around Irryllia's waist.
2nd person - Gwylifar curls his tail affectionately around your waist.
3rd person targetted - Gwylifar curls his tail affectionately around Irryllia's waist.

I also would like the SOLEMN nod I learned in Aetolia, or one like it. Simple but expressive, particularly when a nod is neither emphatic nor sage.

1st person untargetted - You nod solemnly
3rd person untargetted - Gwylifar nods solemnly.
1st person targetted - You nod solemnly to Irryllia.
2nd person - Gwylifar nods solemnly to you.
3rd person targetted - Gwylifar nods solemnly to Irryllia.

If what you suggest just starts with your name anyway - why not emote it? (eg. suggesting 'grumble' - Sidharta grumbles angrily. You may as well just do 'emote grumbles angrily'.) Considering many of them sound like they'd only be used on one person at a time, too, the five different messages for different people would be wasted. Try to vary your sentence structure!

And on the subject of emotes, it'd be nice if they didn't look so different, what with the title and all the rest of it...never did work out why that was, anyway.

Because people would turn them into second-rate illusions.

emote slings a ger rune at you, hitting you in the chest.

The title would help prevent that, but without a title, it's open to lots of abuse.

Ah, point. Though, they do have balance. And hey, people without titles can do it anyway. So there's no real difference, is there?

Even if it starts with your name, you can't do the 1st/2nd/3rd person distinctions like a proper emote.

That said, I do do some of them myself. But some might be useful for everyone else too. And, after all, Lady Lisaera did ask for them, so, hop to!

HILT

1st person untargetted - You step forward and reach for the hilt of your weapon threateningly, looking around yourself.
3rd person untargetted - Mox steps forward and reaches for the hilt of his weapon, his eyes gleaming threateningly as he looks around.
1st person targetted - You take a step towards a baby rat and reach for the hilt of your weapon threateningly.
2nd person - Mox steps towards you and reaches for the hilt of his weapon, staring at you with a dangerous gleam in his eyes.
3rd person targetted - Mox takes a step towards a baby rat and reaches for the hilt of his weapon, his eyes gleaming threateningly.

EDIT: If you use this, see if you can make it work only if you have a weapon. Kind of like doff.

Not all weapons have hilts. Maybe change the title to something else, and have you reach for your weapon. Or change it so Hilt only works if you're wielding swords and not, say, cudgels.

DISBELIEF

1st person untargetted - Your jaw dropping open, you gape in disbelief.

3rd person untargetted - His/Her jaw dropping open, Emoter gapes in disbelief.

1st person targetted - Your jaw drops open as you gape at Target in disbelief.

2nd person - Emoter's jaw drops open as s/he gapes at you in disbelief.

3rd person targetted - Emoter's jaw drops open as s/he gapes at Target in disbelief.


Rather close to gape, but I haven't found an emote expressing disbelief yet. I think.

Apologies for leaving this thread hanging for so long.

I've now created ward, tenderlove, calculate, arrogant, temples, misery and solemnnod. Recently created are also softchant, nodnod, eskiss and nibblekiss.

I've also created specifically for Mugwumps catchfly, specifically for Loboshigaru warngrowl and specifically for Tae'dae bearnuzzle.

As a note, emotes may well (in fact are likely) to not be exactly as you've put them up here, I may have edited them or their names for a number of reasons.
