Iridiel... hehe masked balls.... sorry I have to get my head out of the gutter.
Anyways...
This isn't really about masks, but masking identity which is what a mask does.
I go all poopey when I have a loyal with me and I have Yesod or something which hides me, and people still know who the hell it is because the creature is loyal to me and is walking around bright as day.
There has to be someway to hide the loyals as well.
Like maybe:
EVOKE LANYESOD
Your power of cloaking has extended so much to hide all that follow you.
or
WEAVE INVISIBILITY
blah blah... denizens cloaked as well.
As well as that I walk around town with Yesod on, and I walk past the Pool of Stars and all 20 odd of the guards says "Walk in Light, Aebrin". Come on! If normal people can't see you, they damn can't either.
This I know makes it hard on city protection, but perhaps there's a way to make them see invisible people, like feeding them faeleaf or something.
Actually I think with the Idras' loyals in Imperian when the person is masked, the loyal says "He is loyal to a masked man", maybe this can happen here.

I see one problem with the masks: targetting. Let's see a masked Tae'dae is attacking you, and you want to fight back. How would you target? Blast/cosmicfire/slash masked? B/C/S tae'dae? What if there were two people in the room, both tae'dae and/or masked?
I think that each person should have a visible number, just like denizens, and you could target them by their numbers. Also, you wouldn't know their names (they already have numbers) until they told them to you.

Maybe you could ABJURE COSMICFIRE ATTACKER, and the first attack would do a nominal amount of damage, as well as knock off the mask.

Or maybe, if there are multi attackers like...
"To clearly see your target, you quickly remove your mask, revealing your identity to all"
After all the point of having a mask is to hide yourself. The mask would stop any stalkers. Of course it won't stop farscout or scry or whatever because the mask can't mask your soul.

Yeah, the targetting thing would be a problem. It would be very, very cheesy if someone had a mask and you couldn't fight back because you couldn't target them.

Reference to someone more experienced in the ways of Imperian's masked Idra...but you can do something along the lines of TARGET MAN.
I'd LOVE for this to be implemented. Please. Roark, read this and get to work. I'll mail you cookies if you succeed.

The mask falls off after the first aggressive action, meaning you get a good first hit, but other than that, it's useless.
(loves being a forest ninja)
Edit-It's not useless, but you get what I mean. Also, in Imperian there are only TWO artifacts in existance that allows someone to do that who is not an idra with the (myth i think, or Virt...either way it's high) skill.

If the mask thing is implimented I think a fun way to hide identity for druids would be giving them the ability to sort of morph into animals. Not taking on any attributes but just looking like them so that when they enter or leave a room you see:
A white tiger enters from the $dir
or something like that.

Well, I still think it should be a guild specific skill. (Yay Illuminati?) Besides, druids aren't really all animally like in other games where they were just the...random...animal and plant people! Here they have a proper identity, STAG and plant people.
