As the Vernal Wars drew to a close, some of the first creatures to arrive in the Basin of Life were a small group of wild Tae'dae and Tae'kin, known as the Milfaage Pack.

A band of various Furrikin and Tae'dae, as well as an assortment of Elfen, the Milfaage had come together in the chaos of the Vernal Wars and taken to foraging and a bit of plundering to stay alive in the rough times. They joined the exodus to reach the Basin when Kethuru was defeated (Their voracious appetite actually caused them to slow many others heading in the same direction; they had no qualms with taking what they needed, and earned a rather poor reputation for doing so), and soon upon reaching their destination found shelter within the Serenwilde forest.

Still wild and uncivilized, the Milfaage sustained themselves by capturing whatever animals they could (Which was quite a few), and beginning the trend of overharvesting that continues to this day. The other forest dwellers grew quickly weary of the Pack's detrimental attitude toward nature and drove them from the forest. The Pack settled into the lands north of the Serenwilde, among the foothills of the Razine mountain range. Here they discovered a number of old caverns that had once been made by Rockeaters and established a small, functioning community, hunting nearby creatures for food and fashioning whatever they needed from the hides of Rockeaters.

They continued like this for three or four generations. Sometimes a member of the society would decide to set off on his own and head south to the Serenwilde, to be taken in as a Serenguard, or more rarely a Hartstone Druid. These 'outcasts' rarely returned, and were considered foolish by the hardy cave dwellers.

The history surrounding the disbanding of the Milfaage community is a bit muddled. It is generally agreed that as the community expanded, a group working to extend the reach of the caves uncovered a rich vein of minerals. The minerals drew in great numbers of hungry Rockeaters, whose constant burrowing through the area to consume these tasty new rocks caused a large number of rockslides, cave-ins, and other such problems. Unprecedented numbers of Milfaage left for the Serenwilde, with the most stalwart defenders eventually either falling to the Rockeaters or leaving, battered, to join the rest of their family.

Little is known of what happened during the Taint Wars. Numerous Milfaage had migrated south and east, to the Glorina and Ackleberry communes, and taken on new family names through marriage. The Ackleberry branch's history was lost with the commune itself, but the Glorina family is said to have called themselves the 'Batogaage'. All that is known of the remaining Milfaage within the Serenwilde was that during the course of the Taint Wars the family eventually broke up completely; the Batogaage are said to have lasted a shorter amount of time.

Although the Glorina Family was far more populous than the diluted Serenwilde strain, the tainted touch of Kethuru broke them up quickly. Members of the Batotaage stood bravely by the Ravenwood tree as the Taint rushed down to meet them, and were twisted along with all the others. Many died, while many went on to become Viscanti or, in cases where the effects were not so serious, simply tainted and corrupted beyond any hope of repair. Those that were not corrupted by the taint's initial blow were dragged in and mutated by force.

The surviving tatters of the Batotaage line melted into oblivion within Magnagora, while the Milfaage melted in much the same way toward obscurity. The only evidence that the families even existed, as well as their histories, are a handful of musty scrolls and documents located within the Hall of Records. Though research and comparison between the old families and his own known parents, Guido has been able to trace himself as one of the most likely numerous descendants of the old family. Guido seeks to reestablish the Den by locating other relatives as well as inducting newcomers into what he has dubbed the Flagg family, the name a partial blending of the old Milfaage and Batotaage endings.

I think it's great. If I wasn't already planning the Whiteclaw family for Cronus, I'd love to join.
