Ive been playing both Achaea and Lusternia. However as of late Ive noticed that Lusternia has a terrible lag, so much that it makes it far from enjoyable for me. I waited for some time then logged again hoping the matter to be solved, yet it continues. I am however completely sure its not my connection or anything becuase I can freely play Achaea without any lag of this kind (being so bad I have to enter commands three or four times for anything to get done and its utterly frustrating.)
Does anyone know what this lag is all about? I had thought it was cause of some major reweavings but now Im unsure becuase at least one week rl has gone by and its still the same way (And Achaea hasnt suffered none) Also I would like to note that this lag wasnt so, before this thing started Lusternia played as fast or faster then Achaea at times and now its just utterly laggy (and crappy).
Anyone knows whats going on?

Thats really weird for me Achaea and Aetolia seem really slow, because when I play Lusternia now it goes very fast.
Karielle2004-12-15 10:07:59
Never had much of a problem with lag in Achaea or Lusternia, just that Lusternia seems to enjoy kicking me off every few hours or so. It's usually temporary though.
Choryu2004-12-15 10:27:40
Thats how it used to be: Lusternia was awfully fast and responsive. Now it takes me three to four commands for it to do anything

Are you using a laptop vs not using a laptop?
I find for some reason when I'm my parent's laptop, I get this wierd thing where if I don't hit enter I don't see anything that happened. So if I attakc, nothing happens untill I hit enter again, then I see that I just got killed by a rat *grin*
wierdness

Hm..my laptop works perfectly fine most days, but the one I use at school can be a bit temperamental..if you don't wave the mouse around, the Java client doesn't refresh itself. It could just be the horrible wireless network we have, but I like to blame it on the iBooks.

Works fine for me 90% of the time. Some times, very occasionally, it will lag and just not respond. Quiting and wiating 30 secs usually makes it fine.

I get an unusually high lag too in Lusternia, especially given that I'm on cable.
When I try to trace the connection with the tracert command in a DOS prompt, it always gets stuck on the third hop, always times out.
Maybe same issue for you?
Try Start:Run: cmd
then: tracert lusternia.com and see what happens.

Third hop is still on your side, not Lusternia's.
If you have to send commands 3-4 times to do something that's not lag, lag makes things slow, it doesn't effect if your commands are regonized. Last person I heard complain about something like that(on Aetolia) he had stupidity.

Maybe you got your head damaged and you have amnesia? Stupidity would do things, just not the ones you want to do, and you would have yelled the I love cheese thing.

I hardly ever lag at all in the actual game, although the forums are very laggy sometimes..

If you have to repeat a command over and over to make it work, you probably got a concussion from fighting. Cure your concussion and it will be fixed. (That's what concussions are supposed to do.)

I'm having the same problem Daganev posted (on another MUD entirely)... which leads me to think it's a problem with MUSHclient, if he's using that program too.
If not, I'm at a loss. (and it's really annoying)

I noticed that sometimes I'd be waiting about 5 minutes for my commands to go in, periodically, and only opening new JAVA client windows would solve it, and then temporarily. I'd actually put it down to the new network we set up and my brother hogging the bandwidth, but I actually want on Achaea while Lusternia was lagging just to experiment, and it worked at 100%.
Richter2004-12-15 21:23:48
I work off of a laptop.
And does anyone remember when you used to throw tarot instead of fling it, it lagged the whole world? That was funny...

Back in closed beta? eek.
Richter2004-12-15 21:37:58
Yes... heh...
And that thing about concussion, I ALWAYS think that's lag. Ticks me off, ya know?

My problem is that sometimes it will freeze like major lag, but if I hit reconnect then it logs me back in with no problem.. at least for the first little whil
Anyway, found out the address my tracerts were getting stuck on is actually my ISP, I think, bigpond.com.
Anyone broadband Aussies here experiencing the same problem?

I sometimes get bad lag, simply because of my 52kbps and I'm usually downloading something else. And then the first time I got concussion, I didn't realise I had an affliction, and that really messed me up.

Rarely on Lusternia, more often on Imperian, I just reconnect and it works normally *shrug*Anyone broadband Aussies here experiencing the same problem?
