does anyone know how to make a "gag" in Java (ie: make it so that the line does not appear).
I tried to create a trigger, and then in the commands area, I input:
#gag
which is more or less zMUD's syntax, but it does not work.
Has anybody been able to make this work, or is gag a non-supported feature in Java?
Tanks,
Medheriadh

Non-supported. To my extreme annoyance. You COULD highlight it pink, with the default background colour it pretty much hides the text...then again, that won't hide it if you're looking to cover illusions.

No, I want to gag annoying persons on public channels.
I have thought on highlighting black on black background... but that would show a black line in the middle.
Well, thanks for your answer, though.

AWESOME idea! I'd not even thought of that! *REALLY snubs snubbing list*

If you really need to gag someone/thing, you can use yTin, from ytin.sourceforge.net ...
It's another telnet client... has a gag command and all the other fun toys to play with too.

Well, some people like me prefer to use JAVA because we're obsessive, while some people have to because it's their only option from work/school/etc.. So using another client really isn't the point.

all decent MUD clients allow you to do that. I use MudMaster 2000, and of course, I could make that gag in a few seconds. However, a guildmate asked me if she could create the same gag on Java, and I found out I could not. That's why I asked for java specifically.
thanks a lot, though

I just love how when you're asking for Java help, some person comes along and is all "Hrumph hrumph hrumph. *Throws mighty weighty mind around* Just use Zmud or another client!! That'll fix your problem."
And all you can think is... Thanks a lot... That's not what I'm asking for. It's not like I don't KNOW there's other clients out there... If you don't know the answer, then... Telling me to get another client really isn't going to help!

Hurumph... write a VB script in Windows to gag stuff *nod me*
Shihsou2004-12-29 00:45:24
That's even better.

Java should be able to gag stuff *weep* I hate my clotting trigger because it spams me if I'm bleeding a lot and I can't gag it... and yes I know there are other clients but I can't download them because it doesn't work for me on this computer... don't ask me why I just know it doesn't.
