I get up at 6:30am. I leave at 7:15, get to work at 8:30. I come home at 6:00pm, and sometimes have meetings for my other business till 11 or 12. And I know I'm not the busiest guy here.
Where do you find all that time to post over and over and over and over again??
You're in high school, aren't you? *shudder*

No, I am in Sixth form. Which is possibly the English equivalent of high school, but it is NOT high school. I just spend ALL of my free time on Lusternia, since I have nothing better to do, and I gotta do SOMETHING between regaining balance, right?
Seriously, though, I don't post too much!...I'm only like 130 posts over the next dude down! *cough*

Shiri does not post too much! He posts too little. -whip Shiri-
I'm almost in Sixth Form, too. Wheee, go Brits!

I think Richter is just jealous of Shiri's post count.
Richter2004-12-21 23:41:00
Sixth form? Right, and I'm in the third circle...
Shiri2004-12-21 23:44:05
Well, yeah, so it's really more like 12th form, but besides that. *coughcough* You're just jealous of my post count, that's what it is.
Jack2004-12-22 00:20:44
Huzzah for sixth form Brits!
Regardless of their number of posts.

Shiri2004-12-22 00:22:40
Wow, you too huh? AND Kaervas is. (I heard him say something about the EMA. ) Go 6th formers!
Silvanus2004-12-22 00:26:45
Kaervas is in college. Or freshman year or something, I'm not quite sure what that is in British terms.
Shiri2004-12-22 00:31:45
Well, see, at the age of 16-18 (15 in my case due to cheating and skipping a year,) after finishing what I think you guys call middle school, you can either leave school altogether, go to Sixth Form, which is like...you take more academic courses, or go to college, which is for more practical courses. You get modern apprenticeships at colleges, which are exactly like they sound, or you can take more exams and get academic qualifications like an A level in Maths. Someone I know who went to a college is now taking a modern apprenticeship in electronics, while I at sixth form am taking 5 AS levels in Critical Thinking, Maths, Business & Economics, Physics, and ICT, and will drop one to take 4 A levels next year.
Yeah, it's kinda complicated.

Damn, why not just have a system like us? I go to high school, then I'm gonna go to University.
Nika2004-12-22 01:06:46
Heheh. Amen to that.
The most difficult decision I had to make was: Am I going to drop out at the end of year 10, or keep going? And that one was practically made for me.

Here you do the basic school (mandatory) and then you choose between making two years of preparation to go to university (the califications on those two years count towards being accepted on a university, to study a career with 120 places for it you need to have one of the 120 best califications of the people who applied to enter that career) or just go studiying a "practical" school (very specifical, and prepares you for a very specific kind of work, with only a few exams and lots of practics). Or you go to work right away.
It's supposed to work fine, but I have my doubts. Two years to prepare to go to a university where you'll study totally different subjects isn't fair.

Nika, isn't it the end of Year 11 you decide whether to drop out or not? :/
Shiri2004-12-22 12:12:00
Nika's Aussie, they start school a year later there.
Unknown2004-12-22 12:17:14
Roight.
Lisaera2004-12-22 13:27:25
I'd like to make a correction to Shiri, there are academic sixth forms in Colleges too, and you can do Advanced level courses in most Colleges these days.
Shiri2004-12-22 13:30:45
Oh, whoops then. I sort of didn't pay much attention to colleges, since when those odd Connexions people came round and did one of those amusing displays they sort of gave me the impression colleges were for more practical courses, and as bad as I am at academic things, I'm WORSE at applied subjects. I got the lowest in my year in the Design Tech exam in year 10. (Best in French, though. Yep, that's how weird I am.)
Our sixth form's weird anyway, since all 3 schools in town take part. It gives us much greater diversity, and much more sore feet as I have to meander around town between ICT and Maths lessons etc.. Mutter.

Oh tobe back in sixth form again, life was so easy *daydream*
Shiri2004-12-22 13:37:47
That's as may be, but now I have to waste my (13 day, mind you) Xmas holiday revising for the stupid January modules. No one told ME Maths, Physics and ICT were 3 of the 5 hardest subjects until I'd already selected the courses. *grumble*
