I just got a rather clever idea on how to get more lessons. How about every year we get 5 lessons?
Richter2004-12-22 21:59:02
Imagine, getting wiser as you get older.
Nuts.
Nuts.
Shiri2004-12-22 22:03:54
I'd love it. Gives the poor people who can't buy credits a bit of a nudge.
Bad for business though, ever so slightly.

Dritex2004-12-22 22:44:02
Not really, this would, in my oppinion, attract more people to the game, and thus open up more business.
5 lessons a year doesn't seem to bad. They don't get you much in a skill(unless you've learned nothing in it), and are only gained once an in game year, so that you cna't suddenly jump way up in any skill, unles you litterally make a character, and let it sit and collect lessons for months and months in real time.

I can see going inactive for a real life year, coming back and having mucho lessons. I like the idea, but it could easily be abused.
Unknown2004-12-22 22:49:57
That's not abused as it is exactly the same as would happen if you were active for the whole year.
Shiri2004-12-22 22:50:09
Well...260 odd lessons per year, considering Achaea's been around for 7, is practically bog all, especially considering they gave out like 450 for EVERY BETA player.
Unknown2004-12-22 22:58:49
Yeah, I don't see how it could be abused. You sit inactive for a real life year, you get enough lessons to get a skill up to, what, master? Not a great trade off, but still a nice little boost to those who play and stay active.
Silvanus2004-12-22 23:01:27
Simple solution to anti-abuse. If you are inactive, you don't get lessons for all the years you are inactive.
Unknown2004-12-22 23:09:53
So someone logs in once every IG year to get the lessons.
Still easy to abuse.
Still easy to abuse.
Shiri2004-12-22 23:29:42
Yeah, but come on, it's 5 lessons. That's about 3 hours of ratting with human standard nature cursing to get the SINGLE credit. It seems rather petty to "abuse" that. (And yes, I am aware I am arguing with my original post, I was too hasty. )

You don't get it; it wouldn't be worth abusing.
Qaletaqa2004-12-22 23:30:08
I just thought of it because I am poor but they do have to make money so maybe I am being selfish!
Unknown2004-12-22 23:40:28
If someone wants to not play for a year and get 260 lessons, fine. Whatever. Ill get the same 260 lessons, but Ill ALSO have a whole year of playing! I definately get the better end of that deal. Muahaha.
Oh yea. It would also make birthdays a little more exciting. Instead of 'Oh boy, Im another year older' you can say 'Oh boy, Im another year older. And I got 5 lessons! Im so happy!' Or something to that extent.

Unknown2004-12-22 23:54:15
And you can gamble all your lessons away! Woohoo!
Well, some people would, anyway.

Yeah, I hope they get BIRTHDAYS working soon. I know I've bugged it, but it doesn't work. Sad.

At 5 lessons per year, over 1 RL year, they would have approximately 100 lessons. It would take 17 RL years to trans a skill (I don't know about you guys, but I certainly don't see myself mudding in 17 years time)
Shiri2004-12-23 00:54:47
Why the heck did I think it was 260? It was because I was counting weeks, not IC years, that's why. Stupid Shiri! >_<
Silvanus2004-12-23 00:58:40
Its 152.083334 lessons a real life year.
Geb2004-12-23 01:12:00
You for got to add Captain to the end, Silvanus. (Mr. Spock reference).
