Hold on, you get a truefavour for not abusing a bug? o_O

I do try to reward honesty. I recall having to police the Priests during the Death's Heart event when I had uploaded a nasty bug for them to abuse but we couldn't undo because of changes that could not be loaded until the event ended (the introduction of a race system that actually mattered). They'd abuse the bug, I'd get their promise to not do it again, and then I'd watch them go ahead and abuse it anyway. That is not fun and it ruins things for others. Thus when I see someone being honest about something they could have abused, like reporting bugs that work in their favour, I try to give a reward for the honesty. Plus I feel bad when fixing a problem that someone reported and could have abused; it feels like downgrading skills (which I also don't like doing). I basically neutered almost an entire skillset for him as "reward" for his honesty. That's just lame without giving something back.

I applaud you, Roark.
That not only was an easy bug to abuse, but when I was a Celestine, a lot of us did it. Saved 5 power. I'm more or less to blame for the bug getting out, because I told a few Magnagorans. We all assumed it was something, as I said, put in on purpouse. Summoning a companion on it's native plane. Given the difficulty for someone not trans-planar, I figured it also kept rogues like Silv and I from doin' it. Heh.
Oh well. I rarely used it post-Celest anyway. Hated buming rides down and back. XD
Edit: And, Silv, no hate. If it was a bug, glad they caught it before I abused it, albeit unknowingly.

Just to point out, if Silvanus got a truefavour, doesn't Kaelar deserve one too?

Yep, pretty sure it's a bug. I bugged it a long time ago, soon after I got my first thrall, but I guess it got overlooked.
Edit: The bug applies even if you have the right power, but don't have the 5 power needed. It can also be reproduced if you 'darkcall thrall' while off equilibrium, and then again when you're on equilibrium.

I don't know what the bug is, was it that you can summon a thrall for 0 power or that someone who isn't a citizen of Magnagora can summon a thrall?
Stetson2004-12-25 01:35:24
I think the fact you could summon it without power was the reason someone outside of Magnagora could summon it. Therefore the "bug" that you could summon it without being a citizen, was a direct result of the original bug. Just an added side effect to the summon without power bug, if you will.
