What do you want to return first?

by Unknown

Back to Common Grounds.

Okay, a lot of other threads have derailed to a topic similar to this one, so I thought I'd make a clean one. Before anyone says it, I know that it will still be a while before anything returns, but given that Auseklis indicated only one at a time could feasibily be done, which faction would you prefer to return first?

The final option indicates that you don't want any other factions, ever.

Anyway, discuss!

I chose Glomdoring, just because it's the most likely route that my character is going to go, and because I really like the idea of a dark, mysterious forest type thing. Heck, I can't wait for it to come. It fits my characters roleplay even better than most of the current choices (and Hallifax/Gaudiguch/Ackleberry, obviously biggrin.gif ), and is going to be a fun addition in general.

I voted Glomdoring. Multiple reasons.

1. It is teh kewl evil commune!
2. I've already died at least twenty times for it.
3. Rowena is hot.
4. It is the most likely to come back first because it is already made, although there will have to be adjustments made for it to be a real commune. Unless Roark wants novices getting snatched up by Black Widows.
5. It is basically the core of Guido's roleplay.
6. Rowena is hot.

I like glomdoring too, since all the evil people getting kicked out of the evil city, the outside world is getting crowded.

I remember back in closed, they hadn't made it so newbies couldn't be snatched by the Gravediggers and we (well, I) thought it would be interesting to have Deathsight on on the first day and see how many people died to Gravediggers.. but then they went and made it so newbies couldn't be snatched doh.gif

I voted for Ackleberry because I like the name.. yeah
Shoshana2004-12-23 05:56:16
Glomdoring because then Serenwilde has their opposite. About novices getting snatched up by spiders, they should do what Ithaqua in Imperian did and have under level 10s not get attacked, but after that you just have to run and hope for the best biggrin.gif. It helps to foster an atmosphere of ruthlessness when you have to run for your life whenever you want to get home (Although with teleporting it wouldn't be nearly as bad tongue.gif)
Elryn2004-12-23 06:50:10
I voted Ackleberry, so Serenwilde can develop some unique form of culture before we run headlong into an extremely polarizing war.
Unknown2004-12-23 11:46:41
Glomdoring. Although if it does come back first, and Magnagora is still after us, Serenwilde and Celest will have to team up a lot more.

If Ackleberry came back first, I'd be torn between the two communes. I can see this being the "maybe" commune in a few years time, if the playerbase has expanded enough. I'd hate to see it just forgotten though.
Daganev2004-12-23 11:52:43
I hope your all aware that the ethereal plane has no room for this so called Ackelberry
Unknown2004-12-23 11:57:25
It's because it phased out of reality.

Just because you don't want to edit your map. tongue.gif
Daganev2004-12-23 12:00:50
Its not just that I don't want to edit it, The whole background would have to change too!
Gwynn2004-12-23 12:01:00
I voted Ackleberry, because I think that we need our new cities/communes to calm things down rather than provide more conflict. Also, hopefully all the idiotic retards would go to Ackleberry, and leave Serenwilde to the SEG.

I voted Other. I wan't Gloriana to come back not Glomdoring. Glomdoring would be nothing more then Magnagora in the woods. I suspect the majority of Magangoran players that say Glomdoring do so because they only want a b*tch state to provided them with elixers.

Quoted for truthery. Gotta disagree with Cronnacht, the Magnagorans voting for Glomdoring are probably being just as reasonable as the rest of us. tongue.gif IC, Gloriana, though.
Maedhros2004-12-23 16:45:28
Glomdoring. It'd be interesting roleplaying to see Serenwilde and Glomdoring at each other's throats, and there doesn't really seem to be that many people interested in Hallifax as opposed to Gaudiguch, so Hallifax would get crushed. Plus, I want elixirs biggrin.gif!

I can't say I've ever seen a difference between your beliefs on these boards, and your character's beliefs IC.

How sweet; just what we need, three cute huggy bunny communes. If I have any say in it, the Glomdoring will be no one's 'bitch state'. Any sort of alliance with any city except Magnagora would be out of the question in terms of roleplaying. And we'll need an alliance with Magnagora early on, because every other city and commune will be sending hordes of raiders at us 24/7.
Shiri2004-12-23 18:14:44
Yep. I'm not sure whether I want Ackleberry to come back, though. See, it MIGHT act as a sort of repository for excess snugglebunny people from Celest and/or Serenwilde, but I think that might just concentrate the visible snugglebunny population to a much more irritating level, as well as not entirely removing it from Serenwilde/Celest due to the already existing presence, plus the odd person who just wants the cool Moon skills and so forth. Therefore, I'm unsure about what its effectiveness would be.

Glomdoring all the way. biggrin.gif (Although, I'm staying in Serenwilde, grr, darn crows and all that.)

Point being? I chose to play my character a certain way so I oriented my thought process a certain way. I've seen little difference between some Magnagoran PKers and hyper-active, testosterone driven Counterstrike gamers. They brag and whine when they win and they whine and make excuses when they lose.

Typical D&D mindset. Don't try and attempt to disguise this as anything other then what it really is. It's an annexation attempt by an expansionist Empire. I've a few years of geo-pol simulation experience, I know the difference. As for roleplaying . . . I've seen very little of that so far.
Richter2004-12-23 18:45:57
It's not an annexation attempt by the empire, as the group that tried to start a Glomdoring community was made of rouges. Magnagorans have taken interest because it makes sense that they would (taint, anyone?), and probably, elixers too. I have had no problem getting those though, and I'm enemied to the commune.

Expansion of the empire? Please. Is Serenwilde part of Celest?

Note: Serenwilde does not need to "team up" with Celest. Remember, they are the reason Serenwilde hates cities. *thwap*
