Everyone always thought I was my dad, after about age 15. My voice dropped, and he and I are Mike and Marc anyway, so callers always thought I was -much- older.

When I was younger everyone thought I was my mother, now everyone thinks I am my father. Puberity does wonderfull things to your self confidence. Although the random salesman still calls me "miss" every once in a while. But then my name does end in a vowel, so who knows.

I sound like a guy these days, but one time I was extremely surprised when I answered the phone for some weird Welsh guy who wanted my parents and then when they came back from the shops, I told them and they called back and he was like "Yeah, your daughter picked up earlier" >_<

Although I'm more frequently accused of sounding like an answerphone than a girl when I pick up.

Can I say ouch? It gotta hurt to be mistaken for the opposite sex due to your voice.

Then again, sympathies to whoever is calling too. Had to make a whole bunch of phonecalls before, and worst was when neither the name nor the voice gave a clue.

Oh, and I'm 21, 22 next month *hint* Was 20 in that pic though, so you weren't all that far off.

Yeah, it did suck. But I reasoned it away with "Well, he's Welsh and like...70 sounding. So whatever. " Still depressing though.

Now I don't feel too bad, though I did mistake him for a girl before I heard a voice or anything.

Yeah, apparently I act girly as well as sound like it. (Actually I think it was just a deaf old Welsh guy, I can't say I sound feminine anymore. Then again, voices always sound deeper if they're yours, going through the cheekbone or some such.)

So, yeah, I just act it.
