Emo used to be pretty cool, it was like goth without the heavy makeup and they were generally pleasant people (from my end, at least). And then a breed came through that was whiney, attention-whoreish, and generally unpleasant to be around. It kind of turned into, "I wear black but I love to poke people and giggle! but really I'm sad and my parents only make 75k a year and they never spend time with me... but they buy me all this really cool stuff! but omg I just want to kill myself and write really bad music about it... but I'm totally an individual. but I must be MORE of an individual and buy this 60 dollar jacket to be more individualish! and then I will give myself this really retarded piercing to be MORE individual!" and they were not nice people.
