It's bothered me for a while that clothing can fit anyone - it's simpler and easier to deal with, true, but it makes little sense that a Krokani and a Furrikin can fit into the same shirt. Perhaps when you sew a piece of clothing, you could specify the size (SEW 2104 SIZE 7), the sizes corresponding to the actual size stat of a character. You could wear clothing perhaps a size or two too big/small, but if someone currently size 5 tried to wear a shirt that was size 11, he'd get a message that it was too big, and the same for a larger character attempting to fit into something too small. Armour could be made to work in the same manner.

I'd just find that annoying, myself. I guess it would be an interesting change though.
EDIT: Also, yeah, resizing enchantments change size by 3. What happens next? =/

people constantly change size though... wouldn't that be interesting. Two different fullplate forgings

Well, I'd always assumed that Enlarge and Diminish change the size of your clothing as well (how else would that work?) - so, as long as your character was a different size by magical means, the clothing would change as well, and change back when the character did.

I like this idea. Of course, your character would still be able to wear clothing 1 size too big or small, it'd just be a bit tight/baggy.

it would make it more difficult to sell armor and clothing in shops, but i have to admit i really like the idea. though, it would have to be included for jewlery then as well

One faelings necklace is an igasho pinky ring *heh*

I wonder what would happen if you cast an enlargement spell on a faeling, then had them take off a shoe they were wearing that got enlarged or something so that it was furrikin size. Saves on cloth that way.
Lyren2004-12-31 16:24:33
I was thinking more of once the shoe fell outside the magic bounds of enlargement (in other words, once it was removed from the person that magicked it), it would lose the magic and shrink back to its original size.

Allow clothing to fit those who are at least within 3 sizes of it, but lower its affect on your influencing and protection. A size 12 wearing a size 15 shirt will have their clothing prestiege boosted only a small amount, for example. Also make armor a bit less effective.
Also, tailors, jewelers, and forgers would have a resize ability low in their skillsets that lets them use a handful of leather, cloth, iron, ect. to up or lower the size by 1 point at a time.
