Just thought I'd make a topic for people to post all those cool li'l things from other IRE games all the Divine could probably easily lift out of the code to make things in Lusternia cooler.
I'll just start with one I remember being mentioned that I would quite like - Imperian's percentages to the next level beside the AB thingies.
Anyone else?

I'm not sure how easy this would be to add to the code, but the ability to sit on chairs, etc. in Imperian was really neat - it has the potential to add to RP and just generally look nice.

Seeing score/stat while meditating without knocking out the meditation was nice. I think from Imperian was where I saw it first? Also, being able to do rn while sleeping instead of having to do readnews blaa number. Just for convienience is all.

Oh and the mutual ally status from Imperian. If they have you allied, and you have them allied, on your allies list they will show as a mutual ally. Then when they connect to Imperian, you see "Your ally, , has entered Imperian." And vice versa when you enter. I liked a lot of the little conveniences from Imperian.
Shiri2004-12-28 21:56:46
Oh, and the cool ally list highlighting thing. Also the nifty lines around score and stuff.
Lyren2004-12-28 23:21:20
Oh, I know this has been mentioned before, but the ability to see in someone's honours whether they've written a background before would be nice - especially as, with the Portal to wipe memories and suchlike, fewer people will likely write backgrounds. I used to enjoy reading them, and it's nice to see who's actually taken the time to do them even if you can't view them yourself.
Richter2004-12-29 00:03:19
I mentioned it.
I want that line on my honors, its one of the only that actually matters. Who cares if I did some quest, unless it was a major one. Mentor counts, because it means you've been there a long time, and probably know a thing or two. Background means you're a little more dedicated to RPing your char.
Nuff said.

If I honors someone, it should show if they are enemied to any of the organizations I belong too. For example, if I were to HONORS DAEVOS it would show near the end, He is an enemy of the Serenwilde. Whereas, if a Magnagoran HONOR'sed him, they wouldn't see that line, and if a Celestian did, they'd see that he was enemied to New Celest.

CONFIG SCREENWIDTH #, from other IRE muds.
I run at 1400x1050 (laptop screen), and I'm used normal text sizes. In lusternia I either have to jack my font size way up or have it come about 1/4th of the way across the screen.

I actually like that, as I can have my map windowed and always on top in the blank portion (the part not covered by my status win, that is)
Val2004-12-29 14:08:33
Man, how about we let Mr. Hardworking Roark finish balancing things before we start asking for new things?
Shiri2004-12-29 14:11:46
Oh we are...that's why I made the topic specifically for the little tiny-weeny things that he could probably just rifle around in their code for and lift out with no fuss. (I think. I have NO idea about coding at all. But if it's already in Imperian's code, can't he just copy paste it or something? *squint*)
Lisaera2004-12-29 15:11:52
We're not allowed to take things out of Imperian's code unless they offer it to us.
Shiri2004-12-29 15:13:29
Oh. I thought you were all part of the same company or something. Nevermind me.
Unknown2004-12-29 15:14:03
Impy is Impy, Lusty is Lusty. If you take the unique things that make one interesting and just copy them over all IRE games... what's the bloody difference? That one is about the Taint, and another is about magick vs. anti-magick? Lusty is special in it's own way (as are each and every one of you!)
Shiri2004-12-29 15:21:03
Yeah, but the chair-sitting and ally-colouring doesn't have anything to do with Impy's uniqueness. It'd be strictly better to have it added rather than not, see. But I got confused, so it won't work anyway, so nevermind.
Gwylifar2004-12-29 17:54:00
But the pagewidth thing would be inconceivably wonderful if only for making triggers, particularly against knights. I don't think that'd feel like "unique flavor", really; it's a mechanical bit, not part of the world but the gears behind it.

I remember there was some annoyance that, with so many people having Recognition, it made the special shouting voices people get from being tops in the rankings next to useless - as their 'special' voice sounds nearly just like what people hear with Recognition. Perhaps make it so when the people in the top rankings shout, their text comes out bold or in a different color (a bright one, preferably) rather than the rather dingy one the normal shouts get.
Flow2005-01-01 12:06:00
You configure the shouts colour
