When I was a toad and after the first person who kissed me didn't make the curse leave, I was about to ask Rhysus, as after all he's our Prince, but didn't have time.
Roark2004-12-29 23:05:12
Toad stomping damage actually is fixed. It does not take in account your max health. Doing it based on max health would actually make it more powerful. Perhaps the fixed damage formula is why it stinks.
Shiri2004-12-29 23:24:22
It should probably kill them in one hit. That STILL gives them a better chance to get away than absolution or wracking does, but doesn't result in endless frustration for the toadstomper.

Glad to see the whole "Nothing you say is valid because you're soooo godlike!" view is still alive and well. rolleyes.gif

Well... its... true, y'know.
Daganev2004-12-30 03:32:26
nobody gets cursed and has to live out their lives as a toad, do they?

Just live with toadcurse, you guys get a more powerful leech to make up for it. Stop whinging you already have a kickass skillset. Learn to use it better heh

I'm going to hold you to your philosophy, Murphy. Quit whinning about sacrifice and necromancy in general. Learn to use it better!

All I have to say is... toad curse is awesome! That's probably the funniest skill I've ever heard of! I'd let someone do it to me just for the fun of it but well I don't trust the Serens with it enough to not kill me because I'm enemied for pretty much forever it seems. happy.gif

No. It only lasts 2 minutes or thereabouts.

They have a right to complain. Everything in it seems to be getting nerfed every other week or so. I've yet to hear moonies complain about some of their skills being nerfed, no matter how unfair it is (IE Killing Moon). tongue.gif Or 20 some beams a round.
Shiri2004-12-30 16:46:17
Beam is like a chargeless prism tattoo.

Would you rather have that or a chargeless web tattoo?
Killing Moon maybe needs tweaking, but really, staying indoors, shielded, underground, or just NOT THERE for two quarter hour periods every 25 hours to completely avoid the skill's best usage isn't that rigorous.
Erion2004-12-30 16:55:46
I've been under the impression there's a phase where burst/beam/killing moon SOMETHING that does a lot of damage can hit people in doors during the right phase of the moon. tongue.gif
Shiri2004-12-30 17:05:29
Well, Wane and Dark were bugged to hit people indoors when Raged. Moonburst, the only damage that goes through Rage, doesn't work indoors during the Rage/Killing Moon.

Beam is just a prism tattoo.

EDIT: Awesome, 1200 posts, now I can get into Daganev's order.

On the topic of toads, it seems to me that stomp, instead of taking many, many hits, should be a fairly innacurate attack. Toads are small, you know. It could also have a certain toll after a few stomps. For instance, after a toad is stomped once, maybe it loses the ability to look around, and after two stomps it can no longer move or avoid being stomped, and after three it is dead. This seems more realistic to me.

As it stands... moondancers are the most powerful class. Largely because of their entities, and tarot/hexes. Narsrim, you can't just say "But toadcurse isn't as good as absolve" And expect the argument to hold water. Those with Absolve don't have entities, constantly draining your mana, and they drain less mana when attacking. You have to look at your class as whole compared to another class. Not just one skill.
Unknown2004-12-31 00:09:39
Moondancers are not the most powerful class, by far they are not. For one, we don't have tarot, that just shows how ignorant the people who believe Moondancers are overpowered are. Hexes is 2 seconds to draw, then 2 seconds to hex a target. That means for general use, hexes is 4 seconds per affliction with a message. As for our entities, we only have four that work against our enemy. One damages a small amount of health/mana. One gives one affliction a round. One tries to give sleep (it is called insomnia, people), and one knocks off balance for about 0.5 seconds. The Moondancer entities are extremely easy to deal with. Also note that Moondancer fae attack relatively slow, I believe Celestine angels and Nihilist demons have about twice the attack speed by comparison.
Gol2004-12-31 00:29:33
And you fail to mention all the high damage attacks that covens use, that hit at a great distance, or the fact that you can allhexe, and almost immediately attack with entities? It's like saying Ur'guard aren't strong because they can only hit with weapons, and ignoring combos, the heavy damage, and the wounding.
Shiri2004-12-31 00:32:55
You might be right, Gol, (although I have no idea what you mean about the entities attacking instantly), but in things like arena sparring, you can't USE coven skills like Rage (which is incredibly easy to avoid, incidentally.)

It's more akin to saying Ur'Guard aren't strong because they need a geomancer with them to make tainted ground for half their skills to work. (Yes, I know it's not true, it's just an example.)
Yukari2004-12-31 00:36:01
Ok, so only, -only- four attack your enemies. But there's one that heals your health, and another for healing mana too yeah? Add that to a regen enchantment plus drinking health/mana and sparkleberry and you can heal your health and mana quite a bit faster than others. dry.gif
