I bet if I hadn't posted about it, it wouldn't have been removed
.I used to check for "cloaked" people being online by using the follow command. You get different messages for them being online versus offline, and they don't have to be in the room. On Achaea, I use the brazier tattoo to check for phased people. If you get no message at all, they're phased. 
On a side note, one little bug I noticed from a log posted by Aladraion was that you could use LOOK or L while blind/phased/astraled/whatever to find things in a room. He would move around the Mhaldor subdivision and L TOTEM or L MONOLITH, since PROBE and EXAMINE didn't work. It's the same thing in Lusternia. You can't EX someone when you're blind, but you can L them.
