I found amusing was the fact that Lisaera (the player) could get so wound up over a mortal's actions to the point where Lisaera (the character) could snap a few times to make herself look more like a Goddess of Quick thinking and Rash Acting.

Well, firstly I'm not a player. Secondly, I don't particularly care what you do as myself, the only way you effect me is that I have to take a little bit of time out of doing useful work to kill you every once in a while.

I never thought quick thinking was a bad thing, but Lisaera certainly doesn't act rashly, She's quite considered in most of Her actions.

-eye shiri- for use of the word pwn.

Avatars are invincible, we had one person get avenegered, and the city was casting reflections, chanting puella and the rest of them were fighting the avenger. after about 5-10 mins we got sick of it and the poor sap died.
Avatars are invincible which sucks

If it was going on for that long, why didn't you just get them to transverse out? They don't follow to other planes.

Are you a computer program?

or just have a Goddess complex IRL?
Nika2005-01-02 14:18:34
She's not a player, she's an employee. She's responsible for her actions in the eyes of the company, can get fired, etc.

Brona the player deserves what he gets from Lady Lisaera and any of the divine he insults

edit: oops forgot to change that

Nika, for the majority, the Gods of IRE are volunteers. Not employees as they do not get payed. They volunteer their time to help run the game and make it fun for the players. My problem is when said Divine use their abilities to hurt the game and act as if they are still playing one of their mortal characters from another realm.

One, Shiri, thank you.

Two, Shiro, you think I enjoy, as a player, having my character be unable to do pretty much anything at this point in time? Hardly. If Magnagora wants Brona to stop standing up to Divine that try to walk over Magnagora, by all means. Let them tell him. Not like I'm going to miss the disfavours, maggotings, and random ass avatars sent to harass me.

As Brona, I don't care if you are a Divine, a mortal, or a talking horse, you try to hurt Magnagora and I'll verbally beat you till your ears are bleeding. I don't really care if my character is the "most annoying character" as I have been the most hated in another realm. It doesn't matter. The game needs all sorts to be interesting and fun. If you want to play a Eutopia style game, go to Imperian where they run off people that create conflict.

Seriously, if a respected citizen from Magnagora came to me and asked me IC'ly to stop doing what I've been doing, I'd consider it. If a small group did it, I would stop.

What? As Brona, you'll get yourself into a ton of IC trouble with that sort of behaviour. The fact that it's a role that you think is helpful to the game doesn't mean that other players and Divine should stop reacting as their characters would. You can't claim that Brona is just good roleplay and a Goddess angry at Brona is being a poor sport - that's a double standard.
Nika2005-01-03 02:21:25
Employees in the sense that it's their 'job' to make sure we enjoy the game, and their help can be refused. So effectively they can be hired and fired. One would think that playing an Immortal is a paycheque in itself. smile.gif

I'm not one to tell someone else how to play their character, but the way Brona's acting is kind of disruptive to the whole theme of Divinity surrounding the game. Standing up to Gods just shouldn't be done. They're all-powerful beings, able to crush you in a single step, not some Moondancer that got up your nose. It gives other people the wrong idea, also.. what if someone new happens upon you arguing with a goddess, and thinks that it's ok to do? Frankly I think there's been way too much of this 'Hey, I can mess with a Goddess and She won't smack me around a whole lot! *taints fulcrux*' stuff. It's against the main flow of order in the game. Gods, then mortals, then other stuff. Not mortals, then Gods, then other stuff.
Unknown2005-01-03 03:02:02
I'm not saying it's your motivation, Brona, but I've known some people who do stuff like that simply because they get an ego boost out of putting themselves face-to-face with an immortal.
Unknown2005-01-03 05:29:01
Forgive my character if he is willing to place himself between whatever is in fashion to threaten Magnagora. Brona places his faith in his city, his guild, and Lords Raezon and Fain. If you don't like the way Brona treats certain Divine that are actively trying to hurt his city, try talking to him IC about it. I'm not about to write a thesis about his motivations here. Another bit of knowledge, being a heretic is going against the accepted belief structure. Also, I am fully aware that being a Divine is not all sunshine and happy days. I've had a few friends that have been Divine in other IRE realms.

Unlink some people in this realm, I'm not whining about my hardship. They don't really phase my RP in the least. Brona is a heretic. I cares nothing for the religions of others. Above all else, he holds Raezon and his teachings. Ask Fain about that if you like. I've had a few run ins with him over that including a nice disfavour. Part of RP'ing your character is sticking to your ideals and not bending like a reed in a strong wind. People who changed ideals and beliefs based on public perception and what is most comfortable I have little respect for and think they should grow an identity.

Also, I really have no problem with out other people play their characters. As long as they are consistent to their roles, more power to them. Read above paragraph. Nothing irritates me more than people being treated biasly or descriminately.

Again, I'm not angry about what has been done to Brona. I just find the way he's being punished amusing. I'm very happy that Lisaera isn't playing the cliche snuggly huggily ever-smiling bunny nuzzling baby kissing forest Divine. It's new and it's creative.

The entire point of this thread was to just bring a laugh to whoever might think it's funny. This is a game, people. We are all here to have fun. Including the Divine. They are here to have fun and to help the rest of us have a good time and create a different, interesting, and entertaining realm. This is not going to come across until people start falling into roles and stop bitching about every little thing that comes to mind. RL is PC and tiresome enough without having to deal with whiny people here. We're all here to have fun, so let's not dampen another person's fun to have fun just because it doesn't fit into your little world of warm snugglies.

I'd be more than happy to speak to anyone about my motivation for Brona's RP and just chat in general. My AIM is Brona Feyanti. I'm not an asshole. I just like to play extreme characters because a game gets boring if no one pushes the envelope.

I have a rule in IRE muds- don't talk to gods. If they don't like you, and you don't argue with them or use their name, they can't mess with you. There are more effective ways to oppose a god who is against your city/guild/etc. than arguing with them. In fact, arguing with them is the least effective way to oppose them most of the time. It's not easy, but if you're fighting a god, you have to swallow your pride if you want to accomplish anything.

Of course, if I have a patron I'll talk to that god biggrin.gif But a really good patron, who will help you and improve your mutual playing experience instead of throwing you around like a pawn or ignoring you is hard to find... otherwise, smile and nod, and excuse yourself as soon as you can.
Richter2005-01-03 07:41:00
I think what it comes down to, is Brona is RPing a character. So is Lisaera. It was just as easy for me to whine that I was being killed when I was with DoC, but they were responding in a way that was RPed, and I was just irritated that someone would impede progress.

So, if you RP someone who bitches at the gods, expect them to RP not taking any crap from you, and subjecting you to a horrible death.
Unknown2005-01-03 08:03:36
I completely appreciate how Brona is being RPed. I can't see how that fits in with trying to pick fights on this forum, though. Brona's going to pick fights with people stronger than him, and will lose. That's how it goes.
