The rest of us just happen to have these odd "morals" to take into account.

Nope, they just THINK they do, I haven't seen any morals in Lusternia at all yet. Basically we're just three different camps using the exact same means to achieve the exact same goals.

He was referring to the fact that Celestians and Seren (with a couple notable exceptions) refuses on moral grounds to just randomly walk into villages and slaughter the inhabitants to make them come closer to influencing, as Magnagora has been doing recently.

Actually i reckon its more to do that we want all of the basin and don't wanna share. We just go about it in different ways, i'm sure most of you have blood on your hands for it, attacking or in defence..

censor.gif, Serenwilders are massacring Estelbar furrikins everyday. By both city leaders and random serens. Morals my butt, I only just had to execute Nyla while she was killing furrikin guards and farmers, this happens everyday, by people like Amaru, Malicia, Marcalo, Mitch, Gelthrae, Nyla etc...all killing furrikins, not magnagoran guards, where are your morals now?
Unknown2005-01-03 18:41:42
Magnagora's races that get stat bonuses for being of their classes all have low charisma, but Serenwilde and Celest are less likely to kill villagers to speed village turnover. In that sense the whole thing seems better balanced to me if those two organizations will enforce this roleplay better. I'm sure they make attacks now and then, but is it policy to do so or an embarassment?

Gwynn said the skill to bond is low in stag.... make up your collective minds.
24472

Read exactly what I said, until now, Druidry was more important, so a lot of people didn't have ANYTHING in Stag. The change was just made, it takes a while to get enough lessons to get high enough in stag if your only way of getting them is leveling, and you've already reached a high level.
Daganev2005-01-03 22:19:21
oh... thats just wierd... I always get to atleast capable in all my skills. 30 lessons spent in 10 skills is a lot more productive than 300 lessons spent in one skill after expert.

Also, with Serenguard, I dunno, maybe the other two skills are more important to learn in as well.

Erm, I remember in the paladins we had to tell them the skills of Blademaster and Bonecrusher because they had all puth their skills in upping Totems instead... Totems had a lot more functional skills the Serenguard could work with then the key knighthood skills from what I was guessing.

Stag is a specialization, goof, so it's higher than Capable. I kind of see the point though. tongue.gif

Untill Stag was changed there were 8 skills in it, each one at least 100 lessons apart. So getting to Bonding from no skill in Totems was about 250 lessons.

Serenguard, need to pretty much trans Knighthood before they even think about the other skills, and even then with the exception of bonding/roleplay, Stag is incredibly inferior to moon, so most choose moon.

I have absolutely no intention of telling my guild members what specialisations they are allowed to choose. I chose stag, because I enjoy the skillset, which luckily means that I can bond.

Also remember if we all chose stag we would have wonderful numbers of totems but no moon covens, so we then lose out on that half. And to be honest if its a choice between 5 more totems or an extra moon coven, I know which one I think is more effective for defense.
Sylphas2005-01-04 18:42:35
Moon covens are much more useful for defense, in the best case scenario, i.e. the whole coven is trans. That is far from the case. Even with the majority of people in moon, we can have a hard time finding someone to run a resurgem coven at times, let alone enough trans people to make a decent battle coven. Bond is much lower in Stag than Rage/Drawdown/Waning is in Moon, making it more likely that someone who chooses that specialization will reach it.

Uhh...when I was a serenguard, there was only a single knight with moon, Sonata, the rest all had stag, cause stag is NOT inferior to moon, at all...it's way better. You oughta know your own skills, being guildmaster 'n all...or are ya just saying what fits the current situation in your favour?

And capable is lower than expert.
Daganev2005-01-04 20:12:58
ummm... not sure what your saying with your pithy one liners, but what -I- was trying to say is that I find it more economical and worthwhile to spread out your lessons to various skills and get them all at a certain level before moving on. If it take 300 credits to trans a skill the first 100 of those credits gets you to Virtuoso. 3 skills at virtuoso I think is more usefull then 1 trans skill. This is assuming ofcourse that if you got 300 credits to trans one skill, you will in the future get more credits for other skills.

Tell that to someone ingame and see where it gets you.

Though, I have trouble believing Gelthrae would..
Unknown2005-01-04 20:28:03
It really depends on how you want your character to go. If you want your character to become balance then I agree with Dangaev. but if you want your character to focus on offensive or defenseive then its good to trans one or two of your guild skills as fast as possible
Ethelon2005-01-05 00:16:50
I've had use of both Stag and Moon and for a Serenguard Stag is FAR more useful with what it offers. Moondancers are of course better off with Moon, not to mention they are stuck with it.
Maedhros2005-01-05 05:31:44
When you're me and have to claw for credits, you want to Trans those skills ASAP. I'd rather have Surge than the ability to make pipes, see deaths, mount a pony, forge a shortsword, paint something, resist a tiny amount of physical/magical damage, get a skill that roots me to the ground, etc etc.
Unknown2005-01-05 09:26:39
Stag is more useful for people who just want to be better Warriors. However, and this is close to 60% of the guild now, most people want to be able to do something different and choose moon. Thorgal when you were in the guild Stag and Moon were still suffereing from the both being completely useless so might as well use Stag, and then Stag had just been upgraded. Now that moon has been pushed up, a lot more people have it. And if you pick Stag purely to get to bond it is a complete waste of your lessons. Suprisingly enough, not everyone in the game wants to "powergame" they choose the skill they like most. A lot of people in our guild happen to like Moon so they choose it.

And I know my guilds skills better than most, and you will have seen my suggestion to braves that if they want to be personally better off pick Stag. I don't force my guild to pick any particular skill, otherwise I would have a guild full of Bonecrusher/Stag since its a much more deadly combination.

How many times and how severely has Serenwilde been raided now since the change?
