This is rather odd for me to say, but I think I respect Gregori on the OOC level now. I'm going to go check for a fever and OD on Tylenol now.
Unknown2005-01-11 15:13:28
Brona respects Gregori now???
Unknown2005-01-11 15:13:41
Ouch Brona, I'm just recovering myself, I had an average of a 104 temperature through the week before and after Christmas. Really really bad Christmas.

Evidence? Proof? Or do you mindlessly post sweeping statements without evidence?
Bricriu2005-01-11 15:15:15
Stop acting like you are innocent, Tuek. Or, I might just show some of the tells I got from you, like, the one where you told me, "Ignoring it. Not abusing it."
Oh! Oopsie! I just did post it!
You are a cheater - and you tried to get other people to do the same, as well? Damn. You just keep dropping lower and lower.

I believe I posted that tell myself in a prior post, and explained what I meant, I said I wasn't abusing it intentionally. Go back and read my first post thoroughly.
Bricriu2005-01-11 15:24:11
We can read it a hundred times - the point is, Tuek, Anonymous, whatever you call yourself at the time...
You knew about a bug - you knew about it very well. You not only used it, thus, abusing the bug - you also tried to get others to do the same thing.
Shame on you.

Just wanted to make an apology for using it. Today was the first time I've been active in the realms for longer then 5 minutes in nearly 3 days. I had no clue. I logged on in the middle of a fight and immediately ran to help. I have no skill as a fighter so I usually just toss out Wanings after ordering my Fae hostile. Gregori set me strait just as Bricriu started to rip me a new one.
To Bricriu: You could have at least messaged me first and asked if I knew it was a bug. There is no public post about it and I didn't exactly have much time or reason to inquire. I honestly did not know. My purpose for playing this game is not to stand on the tallest heap of broken bodies. I do not intentionally cheat.

Cron:
Gregori, as well as other coven members I happen to respect OOC came to me and told me - being I don't know you, I was hardly willing to trust you after what had just happened from Tuek. They are why I didn't issue you.
Bricriu, playing her role, would not apologize - I, the player, will though. I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions, but I was still upset over others blatant cheating.

Perfectly understandable.

QUOTE(Bricriu)
We had been attacking for over half a real life day, going along with this event - so, knowing the bug, you abused it anyhow, on several people. Then, you try to say we are abusing a bug, by doing the same thing we had been for a long time - going with the event. Basically, you want a get out of the toilet free card.
I guess I don't understand -- If it was felt that moondancers were honor-bound to stop using one of their main skills after having found out that it was bugged, why wasn't the opposing side also honor-bound to stop attacking while they knew that the moondancer skillset was crippled?
Or how fair is it to ask Tuek to stop, and change all of his macros and triggers that use aeon, while still being forced to defend against the continued attacks? And in addition, he would have had to rethink all of his strategies that revolve around or include aeon, which is hard to do while fighting (or prepare to fight, or recovering from a fight).
I see arguments that Magnagora had been attacking before they knew about the bug. But then, Serenwilde has been defending (and waning) the entire time as well. So why should one be forced to stop when the other doesn't?
I guess you could argue that Nihilists also use aeon. However, from what I've seen, Tuek is one of the main defenders on the Serenwilde side (whenever he is on). This makes his skills and strategies a lot more important to his side in a battle (which is why people tend to target the "main" people first). Also from observation, the main fighters on the Maganagoran side are Ur'guards who don't rely on aeon at all.
Just curious. It seems like Tuek had some good points that have basically been ignored or insufficiently replied to. It also seems like the other side, including some of those yelling at him, carry at least part of the guilt themselves.

Lesse, as far as I know, when ghost was reported as being bugged in the sense that eye sigil does not bring the necromancer out of ghost, did that stop you guys from using it to sneak around or escape combat?
Note- it might be fixed now. If someone could confirm this, that'd be great.
Thorgal2005-01-11 16:17:44
Unlike serenwilde, Dumihru, Magnagora doesn't have the time, waiting only plays in your advantage.
Laysus2005-01-11 16:21:55
Serenwilde can afford to wait?
And for the record - I lost a hell of a lot more experience than I would've if we'd been able to wane in Magnagoras last raid on ether, it's really really making me want to scream it and go wane people. It's one of the major skills that I, and probably most moon users who don't have burst, use (hypothesis, I can't be bothered to ask people).

An important point here is that some Serenwilders have been using it in fights completely unrelated to the fae event, like in village influencing fights etc. Earlier Narsrim summoned Jadryga out of Stewartsville for example and kept her aeoned for the entire time after that. Hardly a case of forcing them to use the bug.

So I'm told by Narsrim, Tuek, and Hiriako, and so I've found when I fight myself. Wane is important for us.
Bricriu2005-01-11 17:01:39
There are plenty of other skills that could be used - Tuek usually uses his fae all the time - and his little army wasn't following him when he decided to go waning people.
Yes, it's crappy this got broken - it happens often it seems, and it SUCKS. However, it does not give you the right to abuse said broken thing.
You act as if Aeon is the most important skill you could have - when a great deal of you were not even using it, or, don't. The rest of the world can get by without Aeon. You all can survive without waning until it's fixed, at least.

Ghost was fixxed, I believe. And is ghost, a fatal, killer affliction that instantly turns the tide of combat? No, it's not.
Unknown2005-01-11 18:16:11
This aeon bug is more on par with the previously found (and fixed, I hope) bug regarding impaling or pinning a leg. How many knights continued to impale people or pin their legs after it was known that it was a bug, I wonder? Would be an interesting comparison, maybe.

Gol,
No, it's an ability that completely stops anyone from harming you and allowing you to escape untouched, especially when there was nothing to bring you out of it.
Zarquan,
Yeah, I'm not sure how many knights continued using pinleg when that bug was around, but I've had to stop attacking in 3 consecutive arena duels when my opponents couldn't writhe free, was kind of irritating.
