2005/01/02 21:36:59 - Gregori declared Raezon to be a formal enemy. Reason: attacking the Serenwilde.

...
I don't know whether to hate him for his stupidity or love him for his wackiness.
I'd like to see Raezon individually disfavour every member of the commune

...well, at least it will spam everyone hanging around there. Gotta look on the bright side.
Unknown2005-01-03 04:17:56
LOL that is pretty funny. Can't expect us to let someone hit us as much as they want, even if they are a god.
Daganev2005-01-03 08:06:50
wait, did he really respond or not?
Unknown2005-01-03 08:17:34
*checks mother tree*
*checks alembic*
Nope.

Nope.
Unknown2005-01-03 13:02:31
Nope, because Raezon is mature.
Merloch2005-01-03 14:07:03
It's not a matter of maturity.
It's a matter of people not considering -Gods- as -Gods-, but instead as players with more power.
Personally, I'd be fully in favour of Raezon removing half of the living totems or something else catastrophic. You don't enemy Gods.

You enemy Gods when they set fire to your home.
Immortals or not, you don't just...not care about that sort of thing. I think Gregori was perfectly justified (for all the good it's going to do, of course, but it's the symbolism.)
Just because you should respect and avoid insulting a being with far more power in his little toe than you or anyone else will ever have in your entire life, it doesn't follow that said being isn't an enemy when he's aggressively disposed towards your home. I agree that Gods should be given the respect they deserve, but you just can't ignore something on that scale.

Merloch has the right of it, Shiri.
Consider Lady Terentia. Her stance is approximate to genocide towards Magnagora. In reply, Her shrines are destroyed, Her faithful hunted. She is not, however, declared an enemy of Magnagora.
Mortals do not declare authority over the Divine.
Shiri2005-01-03 14:23:52
Declaring someone an enemy isn't trying to call authority over them in any way. It's recognising them as a threat and as a foe. To continue along the line of thinking your point presents, by enemying Daevos for attacking Serenwilde, we're trying to call authority over him.
Your point would be correct if enemying WAS like that, but I don't think that's what enemying means.

There is something about making gods enemies. I don't think its right not even to reconise them as a foe. They are there to be hated and loved.
I do like how Magnagora treated Lady Terentia. That situation fitted well. But really if a god came for you would totems really stop them?? wheres the good ol zap..

It's like when Oakstone enemied Indrani for overharvesting. It was a 'WTF?' moment.
I suppose it's just the principle of the thing, though.

Wait, so even if a God comes and burns down your house, and steals all your stuff (or whatever), and kills your family, you're not going to think of them as a foe? Just because they're beyond mortal...stuff, doesn't mean that they can't be considered inimical forces to the organisation enemying them. If we could enemy Taint, we would, because it is a Bad Thing, but that's not exactly just another mortal either, is it?
It's not about the totems stopping them. It's about the symbolism.
Merloch2005-01-03 14:50:12
Gods are -Gods-
They are not players with infinite more power.
This is where people who enemy them, need to step back and think.
They are treating Gods like players. It's just another enemy, it may not do anything, it's a principle effect.
However, you do NOT do it to Gods. They are Infinite in comparison to us. (These Gods may not be entirely Immortal, but still).

So would you object to Kethuru being considered an enemy, and something to be kept sealed (which is obviously as much harm as can be done to Him), because he's a God? Just because they're Infinite in comparison to us doesn't mean they're not enemies of ours.
I mean, the Taint is an enemy. It's WAY beyond Mortal or (I think) even Divine power and stuff. (Well, the Kethuru'd stuff is.) But IC, both Serenwilde and Celest considers the Taint an enemy. If we could, would you object to us enemying Taint?

If Kethuru was free, and able to walk around, beyond the aspect that we probably wouldn't be living very long to consider him an enemy.. Yes, I would object to him being declared an official enemy.
Why? More than saying 'We oppose you' it also says 'We think you shouldn't enter our jurisdiction'
That prompts them to prove you wrong.
In the case of respecting the Gods, I'd be in favour of Raezon annihilating half of the Serenwilde for this stunt.

Terentia2005-01-03 15:14:11
I'm lost as to what exactly the Serenwilde thinks enemying Raezon is going to accomplish.
If he wants to come frolicking through the forest hugging trees and petting the animals (or something slightly more, um, sinister), do you really think a few guards and a totem here and there is going to stop him?
It's like shooting an elephant with a slingshot. All you're doing is making something a lot bigger than you mad at you. But hey. It's not my deathwish.

It's not about stopping Him, Terentia, as we know full well it will achieve nothing. It's the principle of the matter.
