Here's an idea for you, SugarAndTheSun:
If you PLAY the game, you should KNOW enough to make this website by yourself. The only quests I can see you not knowing are the important ones, which would be, to say the least, foolish to put up. I certainly know most of the basic quests, without having to ask everyone else.
This applies to your other topics as well.

I'm horrible at questing. Just horrible at it. I find all these items lyin around or I manage to do one part of a quest and get a new item and then I have no idea what to do with them and I greet folks and I say things to em trying to spark some sort of response, or just randomly hand folks the items to see if they'll take them and no one's looking for those items and then the items repop and I say ah well and kill some weevils or salamanders or something until the next time I try to do some questing and the frustration starts all over. One of these times though I'll get lucky.
The comms quests are the only ones I know hands down and that's just cause they're so simple. Oh? This lady wants chickens. *walk out of the room* *chicken runs by*
I've never, in any MUD I've ever played been particularly good at questing. Or fighting. Or even bashing. *G* I basicly suck at everything except the RP part...I'm ok at that. Not great, but generally ok.

I'm pretty sure the comm quests are the only small quests, unless you count the Newton ones. All the other ones are either honours quests, city quests, or world-changing quests.

a.) I'm not able to get every skill in game that's general without buying tons of credits, bashing for hours and/or begging friends.
b.) I do play the game, a lot. But I harvest a lot, and whatnot. And things that promote my wealth aren't amazingly worldy, so I haven't seen A LOT.
c.) I haven't had enough time to gain all the triggers and take accurate information on them, write them down as symptoms etc. I don't have diagnose and I don't have contacts in each guild that's willing to just hit me with skill after skill letting my heal each one.
d.) I'm not the BEST scripter, a handy script might not even occur to me. I'm decent, but generally I just code things that are very helpful. And what might help someone might not help another etc. etc.
e.) Will you all -please- just stop it with this? It's frustrating having to log on just to defend myself, I'm really quite done to be honest.

Victory! The combined forces of mutual enemies unite to crush another dream.

... I can still laugh at you, right?

If it's so obvious that many people don't want you to do this, then why are still doing it?
Just amass whatever information you get and keep among your friends or whoever wants it.

What are you talking about?! I've said countless times (somebody can feel free to go count it up) that I'm not doing this. I have more than willingly agreed since the very first post of something substantial matter agreed to NOT do it. TO NOT DO IT NOT doing it. The only thing I do plan on posting would be scripts, get mad at others before me, I'm using theres, the triggers on this forum, mayhaps the Lusternian maps and some useful info that doesn't pertain to anything of IMMENSE IMPORTANCE.

Dont pay attention to the, Sugar and Sun, they haven't had their meds yet. They're still a little cranky
Caffrey2005-01-16 12:55:09
Just to say I hope that people don't post quest and skill information. SugarAndTheSun, you say you haven't got time to explore and do quests and explore, and so your basically asking someone to give you the solution so you can do them easily, without having to use your brain. I personally think thats really lame. I mean whats the point of doing a quest using a walkthrough? Yay! You can follow instructions... well done...
As for maps... all IRE games have supported having maps on their web sites. In my opinion this helps not hinders world developement. People who are not interested in exploring can use the maps to get around quickly and get on with the aspects of the game they find more interesting. Bashing, wars, etc. I don't think people who find exploring interesting will be put off by already having maps available. The joy for me in exploring is doing it myself. Sure you can follow the maps and run through every room and get a high explorer ranking, but then you know nothing about an area. Take achaea for example. Already plenty of maps available, but that didnt stop me making my own maps of areas and exploring them myself. Infact I was working on a new world achaea map before lusternia came along and dragged me in.

Two general rules of thumb;
1) If the charecter can learn it from asking around in a tavern or similiar environment, go ahead and publish it. Example: The name of the Celestine guild tutor is Torili. He teaches skills to Celestines.
2) If it involves specifics and/or obscure/secret information, don't publish it. Example: If you bring a yellow flower to Torili, he will give you a obsidian chip. if you then take that chip to Meleris at the Pool of Stars, he will cleanse the Pool of any taint and pay you thousands of sovereigns.

Geez, Rhysus. Do you REALLY have to do that just because some people find it offensive? Is there any real point other than spite?
Unknown2005-01-20 22:24:40
Rhysus is like that.
Rhysus2005-01-20 22:37:13
Pretty much, yeah. The absurdity of that whole thing really got to me.

The topic is no longer valid as Sugar has they stated they are desisting from continuing this endeavor.
