I want an answer from the Divine concerning this. Do you or do you not want this event to go any farther? Please GOD just tell us.
Shiri2005-01-05 23:54:25
Much as I'd like the event to go ahead, because Glomdoring would be cool, I very much doubt that's going to elicit an answer, Brona. (If nothing else, it would make the Seren really give up because they know that even if they try, the event's going to go ahead. They're demoralised enough as is.)
Elryn2005-01-05 23:56:44
Perhaps you could show the admin a smidgeon of respect, Brona. Rather than demanding they answer you, maybe you could try:
Please, Gods, could you let me know if you want Magnagora to succeed?

Richter, I don't see how you can be the only person residing in Glomdoring when you're a... citizen of Magnagora. Anyway, the only reason I ran off is because the instant I leave the Magnagora gates I get killed. I'd be there too if I could do it in more than 2 minute increments.
Unknown2005-01-06 00:13:55
I'm usually rather stupid, but has it occured to anyone that maybe Magnagora has a quest to get the colts back and leech a thousand power from Serenwilde?
Unknown2005-01-06 00:20:02
Do the people from magnagora know what the quest to retreive the colts is? If not, how can you complain about it being to easy?
Shiri2005-01-06 00:23:52
Because we do it -really- fast for what it does. (To be fair, it's not THAT hard to slow down drastically, though it's very hard to stop, you just haven't worked it out yet, to my knowledge.)
Unknown2005-01-06 00:31:49
All Magnagora needs to do is hold ONE colt (not all three) just long enough to finish empowering Crow. Then BAM the White Hart dies, we lose a ton of power, abilities cease to function, and the Serenwilde is broken. Hell, just raising Crow took 5k power, no?
How was it fair prior, when Magnagora had no risk to itself? We need to obtain all three, then hold them long enough to empower White Hart. In which case Magnagora loses nothing. The quest to take the Centaurs is balanced, it puts Magnagora at a slight risk as long as they continue stealing colts, because remember, they only need one to stop us from killing Crow, and therefore kill White Hart, which hurts us GREATLY.

Guido,
It is times like this that I question that spark of intellegence that I so enjoy seeing from you.
First of all. I had members of my own damned clan who didn't know. Thanks. Trying to keep it under wraps, and look! Someone tells everyone else over the forum.
And I can be a resident of Glomdoring because I can RP. AND, because said organization and I have entered into an alliance. I help them, they help me. I've never changed class, and if Glomdoring comes back, well, everyone knows where I'm going.
And your character shouldn't have pissed off so many people, if he can't even walk around outside of a city. I did about as much as you, in similar situations, and I don't have people that hunt me.
In my character's opinion, Guido is weak, and useless. Kind of like Visaeris was strong. And useless.

Wow this thread is long.
Unknown2005-01-06 00:37:00
I think the fact that the Crow quest has never fully been done should speak loud enough on that fact alone. Now it has been made more difficult. How is that balanced?
Unknown2005-01-06 00:41:38
And best of all, it's the same opinion being voiced over and over by a variety of people!
Elryn2005-01-06 00:45:53
Brona, Serenwilde has never been able to wipe out all the demon lords. Does that mean it's unbalanced?
I'm just getting really tired of the whole war... I hope Magnagora sees an end in sight. I'd love to be able to get back to working on restoring Gloriana, but we can't while the city keeps everyone else away. There's no possibility of advancing Serenwilde goals in this whole thing - there's no possibility of winning, all we can do is stop ourselves from losing too badly. Couldn't the city focus on some other way to annoy everyone else for a change?
Edit: Now that I think about it, this entire war/questing is all for Magnagora. There is no way any other organization can benefit, its like a wizgame for the city, having conquered everything else. Magnagora being thwarted changes -nothing-. They have nothing to lose. In this case, why the hell is it supposed to be 'easy'? Shouldn't these tasks be some of the most difficult and unfair challenges of Lusternia?

No, the introduction of the colt stealing and taking them to Magnagora certainly made it easier. Then the introduction of the Serenwilde version made it a little more difficult, but not as difficult as it was initially.
I'd say, remove the Spear of Nintoba quest, but also remove the stealing of the colts and putting them in a trance. Does that sound fair, Brona? No, because they it would be to easy (for us). Instead of complaining, recognize that the divinities made it much easier for you then it was prior.
Unknown2005-01-06 00:49:19
It made it humanly possible, Tuek. The reason it had never been finished before hand was because Crow was way too easy to kill.

I have my moments.
One other thing. Are we sure it makes stag skills not work? I'm the only stag user on the anti-hart RP, heh. Not that it'll make me stop, I'd just like to know before my skills dissappear...

Ok first of all. The Serenwilde has never lost power when Crow was -raised-. Whether it loses power when White Hart has been defeated is speculation as we have never allowed that to happen. OOCLY I wouldn't mind seeing what happens myself, ICLY I will fight like mad to make sure it never happens.
Daevos, if you never saw a Serenwilder leave the Serenwilde then you need to fix your third eye or start focusing on the right people. Don't blame us because you can't figure out what is going on. The simple fact is we -have- to leave the Serenwilde to rescue the colts, and we -have- to have a colt to rescue in order for a spear to come attack you guys.
There was absolutely no balance in Magnagora stealing 3 colts, locking them in a room with statues all around and piles of guards, not to mention the fact that if we had raided en masse you were in your own city and could not only have everyone in Magnagora attack us, but summon another 50 guards to chase in after us if you wanted.
The Serenwilde has -one- means to get the colts back. The fact we did it so fast was because we had something to work for suddenly. Should we be able to steal 1000 power? That is iffy. I would be happy with the blessing of Nintoba, and no theft of power, but I certainly won't complain about taking 1000 power from Magnagora.
As for the -ease- of doing the quest of White Hart. As the first person to complete it and the person who has done it the following times, I can tell you it is not that -easy- to do. You need to gather a bunch of mobiles, run a bunch of items to various people, wait for a full moon, run around looking for more items, then get to White Hart and do the quest. Magnagora with a little forethought could have stopped us at anytime and I have been saying to the Serenwilde since the first time I did this quest that they could thwart us easily if we don't step up and work together to ensure the fastest means of doing this.
On the other hand, it is not that -hard- to do as well, and raising Crow I understand is hard, but then we have never had to raise White Hart. You are comparing apples and oranges here. Kill White Hart and if it is easy for us to raise White Hart again -then- you can say we have it easy, and I will probably agree with you. Raising White Hart should be just as hard to do.

Just a thought:
If Magnagora can raise Crow in a forest that is equally attackable by Serenwilde, wouldn't it make sense that even if White Hart was killed, you'd discover a quest to raise him up, and be able to do it much faster because of the way it's in your forest...
