That would be nice but have we won yet? Or did Magnagora lose yet? I doubt it.

2005/01/05 10:01 - The Spear of Nintoba destroyed -1000 power
This was just brought to my attention, so now they can steal power from us too from the safety of Serenwilde.

The fact that you can steal power from our megalith from within the safety of your icky little commune, together with stealing the colts, without even having to kill a demon lord, sickens me beyond all recognition, how the hell can this bias be tolerated, Estarra? Let me rephrase more gentle,
HOW THE IS IT NORMAL THEY ROB OUR POWER WITHOUT ANY EFFORT?!
HOW THE IS IT NORMAL THEY ROB OUR POWER WITHOUT ANY EFFORT?!
Unknown2005-01-05 15:45:29
Damn, you had better give those colts you stole back then?
I'm rather surprised though that it takes power.
Though, I can understand, that with White Hart setup to die, and cost us so much, it'd make sense that you would have to be willing to accept some losses in return. As long as you aren't trying to harm us, we can't damage you with the Spear of Nintoba. Sounds somewhat fair, though I agree with you Daevos, that is a bit iffy.

Just because you don't like something, doesn't automatically make it wrong/unfair, Thorgal.
Thorgal2005-01-05 15:49:55
Actually it does Elryn, otherwise I wouldn't not like it, if I work 10 real hours a day on this quest...then see how all that work can be undone by a bunch of in half an hour time, EXCUSE ME FOR GETTING PISSED!
Unknown2005-01-05 15:50:57
First off, I hardly think anything here is 'biased' by the gods.
Second off - ease of quest:
variables: How long does it take when soloed? In a group?
Can it be stopped by the opposing side?
Without having to go through your defenses?
Can the counter be stopped?
Those aren't all the variables, but I'm interested in this Spear of Nintoba gig.

No, you see Magnagora's players actually do our work. This is the Divine making things easier for Serenwilde so they don't whine, complain, and log off.
Eiru2005-01-05 15:51:35
Elryn, I think he makes a good point, even if he likes or dislikes something, that doesn't lessen the validity of what he said as long as it's correct.
It's all about your being able to get the colts with out endangering yourselves, and dealing 1k damage to the Megalith's power too, from afar.
If you don't see anything wrong with this... well, I don't know what to say.

Do you honestly believe how it was before, was fair? You could walk into a large, open, undefendable area. Then take the Colts, bringing them to a single room cage, with statues and guards, inside of a city that is filled with statues and guards, with only a single entry point to said cage. Even if we DID manage to rescue them through all that, it would be a comparatively simple effort, to walk into our large, open, undefendable area, and walk off with them again, to that same room.
From there, we are set up to lose much if Crow kills White Hart, whereas Magnagora loses nothing if they fail. Is that fair? No. You can't honestly say it is.
Now, we can do some work to free the Colts. However, our method is still more time consuming, then walking into the Hills completely alone, and taking the colts. You could very easily take all three at once, which it would then take us a good couple of hours per colt.
Now we can also hurt your nexus slightly, but it is much less then what you are aiming to accomplish to do to us. Why should you have a free and clear aim to break Serenwilde, with little effort, and no risk to yourself?

Not to mention the divine are changing all the quests behind our asses to make them more harder for us, how the HELL is that not biased? The grass now suddenly, out of the blue, takes 12 flasks to get, instead of 1, AND it decays 4 times faster...
Please, divinities, just tell us to stop trying entirely, make it impossible what do I know, instead of having us work here hour after hour after hour while you're changing the code everytime we succeed in the smallest of things.

Auseklis2005-01-05 16:03:55
Trust me, we don't make quests easier for either side by design. Even those of us who from a RP perspective are on one side or the other would far rather have balanced quests, because it saves us having to read three pages of posts whining about how unfair things are.

Errr... the quest to take the colts in the first place, appeared out of no where.
Or behind our asses as you might say.

Possibly because they felt it was unbalanced before?
See my above post as to why.
Auseklis2005-01-05 16:07:23
I meant easier for one side or the other to complete. Of course we're going to balance them up if it becomes evident that one party or the other has an advantage.
Unknown2005-01-05 16:07:33
*looks around* When did I start playing Imperian again?
Thorgal2005-01-05 16:10:21
So balanced means, us working around the clock, full time, 10-15 hours a day in many mag's cases, to achieve something a serenwilder can undo in half an hour time? Hmmm...nice balance. OOC'ly, (as oocly as divinities changing quests)..we don't even plan to kill off Serenwilde, we're just TRYING to finish an event that will further US, not kill off you.

Errr... that is what WE are currently doing right now, working around the clock, full time.
You should pay more attention.
Edit: And no, it takes more then a half hour to undo. Please note, that getting the colts back, is only a prerequisite to kill Crow. The Colts go back and forth, and you just need to finish with Crow, whereas we need to get and hold all three. You only need to hold one.
Unknown2005-01-05 16:12:37
The problem we as Magnagorans are having is that we actually "work" for the things we have done. When we get our work torn down because of a lack of dedication and/or effort on the oppositions part it's a bit annoying. Don't fault us for them being halfass about things.
