Actually, I walked there. I even walked through the forest. So there you go. I have no idea if you can burrow there, I never even thought about it to be honest.

Well, considering Serenwilde only has a limited number of totems that work now, it's not that hard to roam around the huge forest. Though, the colts should attack people who have kidnapped them in my opinion.

Why not? If it's nonsense, I feel it's my duty to tell you to stop posting, for your own good 'n all.Â

You know, the more you post, the more you just look like an ass. It seems that anyone who disagrees with you is an idiot, so why even bother answering them all? We can all just save time by assuming you think we're idiots, without you needing to post about it.

Well generally I don't insult people, but I need to take out the frustration caused by this event somewhere don't I? So yes....for now, everyone disagreeing with me is a retard, plain and simple.

*sputter* You, you.
You. Not insult people. I MUST have misread that. Someone tell me I misread that. Please.
Thorgal2005-01-05 20:44:21
No dude, I never insulted anyone before this event began. Though I'm rather starting to enjoy it. It's so much simpler than going into a pointless argument in trying to prove them wrong, while knowing they won't give in even if you punch them in the face with the evidence.

I have nothing wrong with the quest becoming more difficult as it progresses, as long as reversing it takes as much difficulty. Granted, I'm not playing lately (and likely won't until February, if then), but I am following this from a distance.
It appears as if raising Crow takes a lot of effort. Killing Crow doesn't. Stealing colts (to prevent killing Crow) not TOO much effort, but more than it takes to steal them back. Draining 1k power in the meantime is rather mean. Can Magnagora steal 1k power from Serenwilde?

The (OOC) knowledge that Hallifax isn't ANYWHERE NEAR coming to the world is part of the reason I don't spend that much time working on raising the statue, etc. (especially since everytime a node is drawn, whether Hallifax or Gaudigauch the OTHER statue collapses also...).

Slaying the guards so we have to summon new ones seem to work well.

Sure, easy unless you get noticed.
And it would be funny seeing a colt attack its kidnapper. Except it would...be in a trance. So I bet it would be a really slow, wobbly headbutt. (I should credit that to Raiha, she's the one who put that mental image in my head .)

So far, every complaint from a Serenwilder has been "THE PLAYERS ARE TOO GOOD" eveyr complaint from Magnagora has been "THE SYSTEM IS NOT FAIR"... so Once you Serenwilders get off your ass and try to work for a living then maybe you would have valid points...
Serenwilder: This quest is too hard because the other guys are difficult to fight.
Magnagora: This quest is too hard because any novice can stop it with little effort.
If you placed guards with some reasonable amount of efficency, like everybody else does, then you wouldn't have a problem. Also magnagora has lost well over 50 guards recently.
Its very upsetting when the players who learn to Adapt and improve get hurt by the system while the players who learn to whine and complain get helped by the system.
come on Roark... reply with some facts, your IC self atleast would not stand for this.

Zarquan said the last thing that made sense in this thread. No one knows what the other side has to do, and virtually everything either side posts about what the other side has to do is simply factually wrong. Everyone pretends they know the other side doesn't have to do any work while they're doing a ton of work. And based on that everyone's deciding that there's bias.
On another subject, there's an "ignore user" option in this forum. Take a look at it, it has its uses.

fine I'll bring evidence...
"Slaying the guards so we have to summon new ones seem to work well. " -- the ability to slay guards requires that a person enter Serenwilde territory and commence in fighting, the guards shout so you know where to come and kill them. When the anti colt quest is done, there is no warning on any channels or through any skills that its underway to stop the players.
"If you want more balance, how about you make it harder (or even impossible during certain times of conflict) for people to change sides." --- This is completely under the control of the players, and trying to make the administartion stop political action is not adding balance, its hurting the side who can talk well.
"I don't think anyone is denouncing the fact that Magnagora has worked hard for everything it has today. You guys had a lot of good leaders and people willing to learn how to fight from the beginning (some from the closed beta obviously). Also, the fact that lich provided grace to Necromancers meant that anyone with lichdom could avoid death early in the game. By the time it was changed, however, out of the top 20 highest ranked invididuals in the game, 18-19 of them were Magnagorans while all the fighters from Celest and Serenwilde were barely breaking 40 to 50 levels. Which obviously meant no one but Mag won virtually all huge fights. Also, Magnagora practically influenced the first village while Celest and Serenwilde were learning about the politics syntax." ---- AGain, this entire argument is based on the fact that Magnagoran players worked hard in the early game to figure everything out. The same opportunity existed for all players in the game, There was no Coded quest that only magnagorians could do.
"Not to mention the planning and trial+error it takes to come up with a workable solution for getting around 40+ guards total, on top of statued rooms leading up into a one-exit indoor room that wasn't burrowable. Oh, and plus greater pentagram." -- all those terrible restrictions where done by players using the skills available to them. IF no players where around to defend the colts then you would not have a problem getting those colts. Now, if players are around you can steal the colts, if players are not around you can steal the colts... Hence the way they decided to "balance" this situation was to remove any need for Serenwilde to compete with other players, however stealing colts from Srenwilde REQUIRES that players are not on guard or paying attention.
I think thats enough evidence.. theres 3 more pages of arguments but I don't wan to spam you.

You overlook the fact that Magangora was given a QUEST to enslave the colts in the first place.
Unknown2005-01-05 22:12:45
Because there is a ... duh duh duh! event going on! And enslaving colts doesn't steal 1k power that I know of
Unknown2005-01-05 22:13:01
I have a question regarding the Centaur's spear being destroyed:
Does it actually take 1000 power from Magnagora, and give it to Serenwilde? Or is that amount of power just gone from Magnagora?
Because if it's STEALING the power, it's easy for Magnagora to protect themselves from that happening: Don't take the colts.

You're probably right, Sir Victor Leroy Charleston the 4th. (I like that better than "Sir Thingy", although "Sir Thingy" is quite humourous, too."
I added the bit about not taking the colts as an afterthought, though.
I really want to know where the power goes to, if it's just gone, or if Serenwilde gets it.

I only read the first page. Aaaanyway. Let's see...
- The Serenwilde has a quest to kill Crow.
But, - The Magnagorans can nullify their ability to perform this quest by stealing the Centaurs, or killing them for a more short term advantage. This involves them entering a forest filled with totems, guards, demenses, and people who want to kill them.
But even then... - The Serenwilde has a quest that scoops the Centaurs back over to their side.
Not too bad so far. Now lets see it from the other side...
- Magnagora (And me!) has a quest to kill White Hart.
(So far so good)
But, - The Serenwilders can enter the forest that has no defense except for the Magnagorans who are inside it, and their demenses. No guards or defensive objects. They can almost certainly ruin the quest by killing Brennan, the Wyrm, Rowena, any of the four skeletons, the deer, or even just the deer in their own forest.
(Hmmm)
- The only counter the Magnagorans have is brute force in driving them from the otherwise defenseless forest.
I suggest that at least some quest be put in that allows Magnagorans to snatch up centaur colts from the forest. A big bad demon swooping down and picking one up for, for example.

Were they? I thought they just fed them and hauled them into the city, same as anyone else.
