Umm dreamwalking, or anything related to it, was a lost art during the time of the Illuminati. You have to remember to keep your skills consistant with history and the specific society. Gaudiguch was at turns a party town, and deeply cryptic, passion and secrecy combined.

It obviously wasn't THAT lost if Ladantine used it. He had to have learnt it from somewhere, after all. Besides which, do you really think the Illuminati -would- make it public knowledge if they knew about it? It obviously wasn't well thought of, now was it?

It was a lost art in the sense that very few people had the ability to use it. Though that is true, it was lost as far as Lolliwhatsit was concerned. It may very well have been that the Illuminati were quite adept at it's use. Since Lolliwhoever wasn't an Illuminati, they might teach the secrets of Dreamwalking to their members, but there are occasional individuals still born who possess the ability to do so even without any formal training at all, like the Emperor.
