Oops, can someone (a.k.a. Admin) fix the poll options?

What's the current credit price per one?
But I can already say - no, I don't buy any credits OOCly.
Drago2005-01-06 11:30:13
3 credits at 3300 gold per credit.
46 credits at 3350 gold per credit.
5 credits at 3400 gold per credit.
20 credits at 3500 gold per credit.
8 credits at 3695 gold per credit.
11 credits at 4000 gold per credit.
318 credits at 4400 gold per credit.
1 credits at 4500 gold per credit.
20 credits at 5500 gold per credit.
1 credits at 26000 gold per credit.
Total credits for sale: 433 shown (433 total) (Average sale price: 3253)

At those prices, I'm just going to wait until I earn some more money OOCly.
Eiru2005-01-06 11:37:13
We all need to stop buying credits IC until the prices go down...
Val2005-01-06 12:41:18
Your all basing it off prices from other realms. This is NOT those realms. As Roark mentioned once, perhaps gold is easier to get here(Eiru you know it is WAY easier). I would say gold is atleast twice as easy as other places, which means credits should end up about double what other places are. In that respect we are way cheaper then other places. Yes, I've bought some OOC, but that is a small fraction compared to what I have gotten IC.
eirene2005-01-06 12:45:07
I agree with Val... I don't buy any credits ooc, but with the tradeskill options and with tons of comm, power, and regular quests so easily accessible, I think that the inflation that has occured is a natural thing. I am able to get by pretty well by managing my money and I am able to buy credits when I want. I think the way it is is good for now.
Val2005-01-06 14:00:54
Your forgetting astral where I can make over 10k an hour bashing, getting great exp at the same time. And yes thats AFTER buying new health vials when they run out.
Eiru2005-01-06 14:19:44
Well Val, not all of us were jewelers when diamonds were going for 2.5k a piece and the credits were going for 1.5k or even 800. Gold isn't as easy as you make it sound, specially now with the ban on refills, you have to spend hours bashing, which gets old after a while. I'm always broke now because I don't bash much these days, also you always have to spend the gold on refills, armor, enchantments, commodities, herbs, you name it.

Lusternia is still young, no sense in getting credits to go for 5 or 6k yet, I actually stopped getting on when they were at 5k, partly because the game is new and for it to hit 5.5k so fast was just... depressing.

Also not too many are high enough in level to make enough gold bashing.

I really wouldn't want to see the price go double what it is right now. Yes you are right, the prices right now are reasonable, just don't go around saying it's too easy, and they should be double tongue.gif. Because it isn't, and they shouldn't!
Gol2005-01-06 14:26:36
I could make 2k a run, a 10-15 minute run, of spectres, and that after buying refills... golds a ton easier to get, and I didn't even bother questing at all...
Roark2005-01-06 14:28:14
Yes, think of Lusternian gold and Achaean gold like Canadian dollars and US dollars. Or maybe the Mexican peso vs. the US dollar. IC buying credits for 2000 dollars is not comparable to buying them for 2000 pesos. Indeed, 3000 pesos would probably be a better deal than 2000 dollars. Though feel free to spend 2000 dollars OOCly if you are so inclined. smile.gif

well put!

*daydream*
Just out of curiousity, how many credits does $2000 get you?
Unknown2005-01-06 18:11:53
Let me count...
About 5000-6000.

obviously not everyone has such an easy time getting gold as the rich folk....

lots of votes for too expensive and buying ooc credits, which would seem contradictory.
Shiri2005-01-06 21:54:49
Since it's IC prices that are being discussed, no, it's not contradictory. It means people are having to resort to paying real money for them, since it's too hard to get them in game.
Unknown2005-01-06 22:00:52
Or, because they bought a small amount (40-100) of credits some time ago (maybe there was a credit sale?), but they have to rely on IC ways of getting creddies now.

By the way, those who buy credits OOCly and not ICly aren't very objective in their opinions about this topic, since they never had to experience the confrontation with the credit market. It's like the nobles at the start of 20th century in Great Britain, thinking 'what an interesting life those lower-class workers must have'.

On the other side, those who buy credits Icly aren't objective as well - since all they want are credits on the market at such a low price as possible: no matter how low it will be, they will still want cheaper and cheaper creddies.

(ignore the italic text if you believe there are thinking people in this world - I still believe... yet)

Even if you can't get to astral. I know more then one person that has gotten 10k in 1-2 hours just on quests. It's people that think this is any other IRE game and that means ratting to get gold. Here thats not the case, tradeskills, quests(theres a million of them), and astral are the real ways to get gold here. I remember in Achaea/Aetolia a quest that gave 5k gold was a rare thing, and a big deal. How many do we have here? I can think of atleast 7 off the top of my head.
Daganev2005-01-06 22:05:43
Normally if you buy OOC credits you want higher prices so that you can sell and rebuy at city or guild prices, since you know when you buy your city and guild will be getting some.
