I'm not saying it's hard, but man, you make it sound like gold grows on trees.
That's the current secret plan we are working on with Abeytu and the Moonglory, breeding a money tree.

Looking at the poll right now, 38/48 people think that they're too expensive. I can't help to think of how many of those 38 (would or do) sell them for those high prices.
Unknown2005-01-09 04:32:22
I do when I have credits. Because I think they're too expensive for me to purchase doesn't affect my will to make a profit at all.
I wish I'd have had the forethought/funds at the time to buy 2+ shops at the initial 100k prices.... oi.

Heh. Rexali and the profits. You really gotta think about a trade change. Being a tailor unfortuenately isn't good for gold.
Unknown2005-01-09 17:46:06
Looking at what -really- matters, the market, not enough people think credits are 'too expensive' to make the price go down.
No individual controls the market. The price has stabilized and will stay there until the market decides to change it. Deal!

No-one can individually make the prices go down. They only way they ever really will is if some sort of group is formed against the high prices, and that group will have to have an extremely large amount of people who buy/sell credits oftenly on the market.

Exactly - no person, and no group, can change the market as a whole.
There will NEVER BE A SUCCESSFUL "BRING DOWN THE CREDIT PRICES" CARTEL AND THERE NEVER CAN BE
It's a free market. As supply and demand change in general, so will the price. It's idiotic and counterproductive to try to manipulate the market.

When the hell did creds go for 3000?
I sold my creds for 1700 like a month ago.
Oh well, more money for me.

How is that unfortunate? A free market is the most efficient way to allocate limited resources known to mankind. Any change would end up screwing everybody.

Every credit that appears on the credit market was earned by somebody who did something tangible to support Lusternia, either financially or otherwise.
What sort of communist state do you people live in who're demanding credits be re-valued to suit your personal fancy? The IC value of a credit is the IC value of a credit. Pay it, or go out and get a RL (second?) job with all the hours you've been bored to tears bashing for gold.
Think I'm being unreasonable? Consider for a minute how many credits could you buy for a single hour at RL minimum wage, and compare it to what you could buy making gold "hand over fist" in Lusternia.
Maybe you'd still be bored, but it would do a lot more to support Lusternia and your local economy, and your character would be way more powerful in the bargain.

That's if you're old enough to get a real job. Wonderful how that works, eh?

No it's not. Its also possible to do, in the long term.

Val, since you are so rich, I do believe you owe me 200cr, and you have 1 IC year left to pay off the loan, as per our agreement.

It's reasons like that why I might quit Lusternia. I don't believe Lusternia is a "free" game. I mean, how can OOC actions - whether they support Lusternia or not - gain IC advantages? It most definitely does not make any sense IC. I know that there are lots of formerly-dedicated IRE fanatics (not as in financial "donators", but excellent role-players and addicts to IRE games), who eventually decided to leave IRE MUDs simply over some "credit" reason.
I believe credits are a reason why IRE MUDs do not contain good and consistent role-playing, and as each MUD progresses, they become more combat-related as more credits are in circulation.
