Hey, I just recently bought a hundred credits and have 90 left. I'm expert in both Moon and Wicca, Adept in Planar, Adept in Hexes, Apprentice in Influence, and Novice in both Discernment and Discipline. I want to become a decent to good fighter and was wondering which skill.... within 100 credits or so... would provide the best combative skills. I'm level 45, High Elfen. If you would prefer to send me the skillsets so that I can decide for myself, that would be appreciated, but I would also like to hear some input.
Thanks!

You need at least some discipline to really be good, not only for some nice skills but also for power regeneration. Also, get diagnose in discernment. Aside from that I don't really know the others, though it is nice to get astralgate in planar, it's only halfway to expert.

I recommend Wicca over both Moon and Hexes as far as guild skills go, since Nymph and Mother (I can't tell if you have the former yet) are awesome for bashing and nymph's good for combat against guardians.

For basic skills, these are probably minimums for fighting:
- Diagnose in Discernment (as Archthron mentioned)
- Insomnia in Discipline (Restoration and Focus mind are nice but farther in)
- Nullify in Lowmagic (Summer is nice for entanglement)
- Teleport in Planar (Summon is also nice). Planar is a very good utility skillset.
Some lessons in Combat are also really nice against knights (especially shieldparry and weaponparry).
To help you plan, here are the lower skills in some of the more useful general skillsets. I won't post the moondancer-specific skills here (but you can ask the guild for advice). I'd focus on Wicca and Moon before Hexes, as they're generally more useful.
Percentages are approximate (based on learning 15 lessons at a time).

Those were all -extremely- helpful posts. I am now Virtuoso Wicca, Expert Moon, Adept Planar and Hexes, Capable Discernment and Discipline, and Apprentice Influence and Environment.
I even have 30 credits left!
I was looking forward to getting Nymph and/or Mother in Wicca but didn't. Although, Sprite will be useful. I'm still wondering what skill %'s these skills are at, so if anyone knows, please let me know.
Thanks again!

And I am... jealous. All you little punks out-mighting the big bad Glomdoring bully so fast is a bit discouraging. Damn my poorness

Don't worry Guido, you're still 5% over Atreus . But he's got 30 credits left. Ooer.

Might doesn't really mean anything... I've bought credits. My might is pretty darn high. Can I fight?
So, don't feel too bad Guido.
Unknown2005-01-09 16:26:48
Yes, might means nothing, that's why everyone who fights buy credits
Shiri2005-01-09 16:44:13
You can be a bad fighter with them, but you can't really be a good fighter without them.

I would learn up to mother within Wicca because it can heal you. Also get sprite to regenerate your mana
Shiri2005-01-16 10:17:11
By the time you've mother, you've already sprite.
Mother's not that great, incidentally. It's like...5% health every (long) time. Still, good for bashing I suppose.

I love nymph for bashing though, I couldn't consider bashing meese (yes I know) at my level without her. Sprite is amazing, most useful fae I have by far, still working on Mother as it stands.

Sprite is -the- most useful ever. With auto-clotting triggers (clot once for every 25h of bleeding, and once for luck), my mana goes poof! without it. Down to the red within a minute or two of hunting. With it, I stay in the green all the time.

On a side note, I managed to outlevel Guido without creating a new character!
