So, how do we DJ for the radio station? I just got DSL, so I can run the radio for the first time, and I'd love to help out!

Get Shoutcast, contact Alyss (or maybe someone who's got the config info, I don't have it anymore).
And better prepare some good music.

Right now, I'm the main DJ, running a very very ecclectic mix of music. Anything from rap to country and all stops between. *shrug* You wanna make requests for types of songs, I'll be updating my playlist shortly and putting a link up so you can see what I DO have to play. Those wishing to DJ speak to me and I'll try to help you get going (While alys is busy and unable to be around as much as she'd like). IF we have enough interest I'll put up a schedule again, and we can start having our 'favourite show' times available to track by.

As always you are a godsend Bran. I will be pitching in again with help soon. I am working on backend stuff for the Station (more connections, back up stream when there are no DJs etc)

But yes DJs speak to Bran or Me about it. We need you, or we need your friends from other IRE games who don't play here but want to DJ.

I listen to this radio station that plays nu-jazz, urban lounge and chill out music.

I like to listen to classical music or ambient music when playing. Sometimes I listen to Nox Arcana stuff, or just put on Audio Visions on XM Radio.

(What happened to some of these people who used to be here? Old thread, I know, just wonder what happened to some of these guys.)

Power and symphonic metal. Because I really like all that stuff. Trance makes me zone out, much as I like it. Sometimes Celldweller. Stuff like the Last Firstborn works pretty well.

Hrm, I could be a Dj as well, I have lots and lots of music, though mostly Classical and Jazz right now (I deleted most for diskspace... and used 3 DvD-r for back-up).

So, I just have to download Shoutcast and that's it? No register, no nothing, no introductory stuff like "This is Dj blah blah blah, welcome to my blah's station, where it's jazz all day, all night."??? If no then I'm in!

I doubt Ally is maintiaining the channel anymore. Well, the stream, anyway, and you'd have to get ahold of him for the password, which would be a feat.

Yeah, the channel pretty much died when they got the DJ Bot a few months back.
