I have seen it done before, though genereally you just use a mic and a speakerphone. But I am open to anything anyone wants to try.

You'd get a timeout for the url if it was a) down or B) had too many users (which would be a good sign!)

No we havent ever hit peak connections before. So you should be able to connect. The most likely reason I can think of is you are behind a firewall that isnt letting port 8800 and 8801 through. If you PM the next time you try to connect so I can get an idea of time, I will see if you are actually touching the server or being stopped earlier than that.

EDIT: and everybody who said they were interested in DJing please please please PM to tell me if you are still interested. Even if you arent interested anymore I just need to know what prospects we are looking at. I am pretty sure the few regulars we have (about 5 or 6 of you) are getting fed up of my collection.

For any of you that are worried about bandwidth or anything, my stream from my machine has now been sending for 19 hours and has only uploaded 250mb, so if you were doing a 1 or 2 hour DJ slot you are only looking at 10 to 20 mb over the whole period.

We have a few regular listeners, but I also notice a lot of people connecting for only a few seconds and leaving, I can only assume you have an issue with what is playing at that precise moment. So you people should really start telling me things you want to hear. The playlist is very varied at the moment, the only thing it lack is around the modern pop area (it being something I dont buy many CDs from) but tell me what you want to hear and it will happen. If you have other problems, ideas..anything just tell me, I really want to build this up, but if someone connects for 10 seconds decides they dont like the current song and so dont stick around, it's kind of hard for me.

So far, I've heard from two of the DJ-potentates;

Gwynn, and Richter. Richter can't. Gwynn and Alyssandra is a mighty small staff for a 24-hour radio station. My computer (and my parents) don't let me do anything but listen. WE NEED DJ'S!

Well once we have DJs I am able to start doing the more interesting things. On the gwynn front we have a minor technical hitch at the moment or he would already be broadcasting.

Its strange I would have expected more people interested in DJing, maybe they think its more difficult than it actually is, who knows.

I'm sure that more people will be open to the position after a while.

Also, are you still taking music suggestions?

Yes always open to music requests, as long as I am actually about.

That can happen whilst its just on Random, it goes through periods of sounding like a Metal station, a classical station, country station.
