I felt really bad after this one

Patient: How much pain medication am I getting?
Me: you are getting 0.2 mg every 20 minutes
Patient: *VERY ANGRY* WHAT?! 0.2 I was getting a full 2mg before! Why can't I get that?
Me: You were getting Morphine before. Now you are getting Dilaudid.
Patient: Why can't I get the same amount though! I am tired of you nurses playing games with my meds!
Me: Because .........you would die.
Patient: ....... Oh .. Good looking out.
Me: I do what I can! *smile*

Underpaid, overworked, undervalued...but nurses really are the glue that holds our society together. You guys need as good unions as the doctors have, so you actually get a fair deal.

I have several nurses in the family, I know what its like. Especially the ones that work in Aged Care...and special needs seems pretty draining too.

'Can you transfer me to DCSS?'
'No ma'am, DCSS is a County office, I can give you the phone number though.'
'Ok, whats the number?'

Five minutes later...

'California Superior Court, Family Division......'
'Can you transfer me to DCSS?'
'Ma'am? Didn't I just speak to you? I can't transfer you.'
'Yes you can, the woman in DCSS says you could.'
'Who'd you tell her you talked to?'
'Umm, I told her the child support people in the court.'
'Ma'am, she thinks you are talking about the DA's office, and they can transfer you.'
'So? Transfer me to them then.'
'I can't transfer you to them.'
'You know what this is, you are trying to screw me, you know I am on a cell phone, and this is costing me money! Can I talk to your supervisor!'
'Just a moment...'

10 minutes later....

Supervisor: 'I just got a glowing report about you, good job, keep up the work.'
Me: Confused Look


'Ma'am, you can't get married.'
'Why! What do you mean I can't get married! Do you f'in know what you are talking about!'
'Ma'am, you are still married to **** *******.'
'Well if I am its your fault!'
'Actually, acording to the case, the proof of service for divorce was filed two days ago, and it takes 6 months after the hearing minimum for a divorce to be finalized.'
'So you mean I am married to that s*** head for 6 more months?'
'Actually, your case will more then likely be dismissed as no seperation is provided, and you did your husbands proof of service.'
'What does that mean f***er.'
'It means you are going to be married for a long time.'
'Screw you.'
'Umm, can I ask who you wanted to marry so quickly?'
