Ah, great. Thanks for the fast response smile.gif

I seem to remember the mentor bonus on achaea ended up being scaled down because of how often the mentor credits ended up back with the protege's player sad.gif

What if that mentor/protege relationship is actually the same person? Or brother and sister playing from the same IP?
Unknown2005-02-28 11:09:08
Well, if the mentor/protege are the same person, then that is multiplaying, since no two of your characters are supposed to be online at the same time anyway.

As for same IP, me and my buddy in Iraq had that issue, since we both play and the computer centers there work on a single server. We got questioned for multiplaying, but I think our mutal fast responses convined the investigating Divine that we were different people, so it was dropped.

Brother/Sisters having the same IP shouldn't have a problem, even if they are mentor/protege in game. As long as it is two separate individuals, you're not going against the multiplaying rules.

Ahh yes, I forgot that the mentor and portege have to be online at the same time to have that relationship. silly me.

Just shows you how much I mentor.

I noticed that someone else asked but a divine never answered.

Is it allowed for me to create an alt and take on a certain mentor not played by me in order for them to recieve the mentor/protege bonus? Not then giving the credits back to me but keeping them for his/herself.

Thanks

Transfering ooc credits is perfectly fine whenever UNLESS you have two characters on at the same time. Then.. its wrong. Like for example you cannot mentor your own alt.

Two scenarios to blow your mind:

1. You make a newbie and let your buddy mentor you. He keeps the credits.

2. You make a newbie, and he gives you the credits back, cause you're a selfish person. You then either a. keep the credits for use on the newbie or b. transfer the credits back to your main.

Good/bad?

On the topic of credits... (this is for all the other people in my situation!)

Do you accept Canadian cash?

I could go to a money exchanger (don't have any bank/online accounts yet), but sometimes it's just easier to... you know... and stuff.
Ashteru2005-08-11 20:13:58
Don't get me started about credits, please. I finally found a way to buy some, and then my bank screws up the first transfer...Now I have to visit them and yell at them a bit, maybe that will work better... glare.gif

Canadians don't have cash dear.

Thats just their daily allowance of monopoly money.

I seem to remember that the part 2 was why mentor bonus was downed to something like 5% on achaea. Too much of mentor giving credits back to protege.
Hajamin2005-08-12 00:55:49
I would say credits gained via the mentor bonus are gained IC(payment for services rendered), so those could not be transfered to an alt. As for going back to the protege, that is infact another person... I don't really like it personally. Those are just my thoughts, lets see what Estarra has to say.

On another note, anyone remember the good ol' days when mentors got 25%

I think most of the buying credits thing will be a yes unless it is just plain against the rules because more money=better lusternia thumup.gif

just cause it's cool: fight.gif

On a similar note, if I buy credits for a noob, do I get both bonuses?

-edit: simple question, one word answer, a novice with the bonus, and the august bonus will get both bonuses will they not? -plz respond...

You get the bonus lessons for the amount of credits you buy, and you get the extra credits.

Someone asked about buying with a different currency? If you do that (with a credit card, obviously), your bank ought to automatically convert the money for you as the company (Lusternia) takes the cash in US$. At least, that's what it looks like on my bank statement. I'm Australian.... when I buy credits, I get a line on my statement saying $### Lusternia LLC or whatever it is, then the next line is (usually a few dollars at most) the conversion fee as charged by my bank.

I could be wrong, though!
Bau2005-08-12 11:16:44
*cough* I realised that might not have been very clear.

Say you bought 100 credits, you would get 240 lessons (I think it is) for buying credits, and then receive an extra 20 credits.
