I am Imadis. I am retiring. I am posting this one time not to tell you why and whine and complain about things, but simply to express my viewpoint now that I am not worried about the more acute among you using it against me. In one of the threads the merits of Tarot and Hexes were debated, I can tell you from a brawler's perspective that Tarot is hands down the winner there and the fact I had transcendant hexes and still considered them useless in battle should tell you enough there.
I was not not a fighter. I realized early on that my personal skills in pk werent elite and I didnt really care to put in the time and coding to make it work, since I was playing for my own enjoyment after all. The fact that I was able to kill so many and be so effective in group actions is a reflection of that understanding of my personal weakness. You might remember I would never spar unless I had to in order to guage somebodies combat skills for the city. As many you can attest I quite simply sucked at one on one against an oppenent of any skill. I did however find my niche in group actions to a large extent. I noticed early on that a lot of seconds and multis were being abused here and after clearly establishing that fact to my satisfaction I placed characters in the various guilds and communities myself to act as my agents there. I literally established a shadow army to work my dark will and keep me informed of events throughout the basin. Now I have worked pretty hard at establishing and playing my role in the game, and I will say without fear of contradiction that I have presented an unflinchingly solid depiction of tainted Nihilist dedicated to his life and way in every respect. I never bothered to speak of fairness except as an indicator of another individual's integrity or lack thereof. You might remember the Log that started Honour thread. I was well aware that Amaru if he ever caught me one on one would kill me flat out. He was spam summoning me every time I left Magnagora. So I rounded up a friend and we went to stop this thing and kill him we did. Murphy then faced the two of them alone because I was asleep at the time and when I reentered battle just after murphy died the second time I was slaughtered too since Amaru put me to sleep and I didnt have insomnia or kafe up have just arose from slumber and rushing in too late to help Murphy. I am not an elite fighter as I said before but I had found a niche. On the wisp issue any arguement its not a fatally overpowered skill with no warning message is idiocy. Timeslip doesnt stop it and you get no warning its that simple. So what if you have to spam it 100 times? I have no targetting information and no warning. What do you lose? a minute or two?
Puhlease
On the Nihilists being overpowered all I say is this- I tested MY damage straight up versus a well set up level 2 novice aquamancer mugwump with no credits bought, and I LOST. I had 3 guild skills transed at the time. This makes me support not assault in my view. Now for the other side of the arguement- and I would NEVER EVEN CONSIDER mentioning this if I werent gone, Nihilists have a single great advantage that is shared with the Celestines and Moondancers. We can attack or afflict in ANY circumstances with our entities. I get jumped by 6 guys, if I have targetting information I can crucify one on entry. If they get web off I still crucify. If Im webbed bound stupid and amnesiac I can still throw a demon at somebody. There it is- the Nihilists Celestines and Moondancers have that advantage- you can kill us but you just cant stop us. My view is that the gods are attempting to balance a greater number of elite and near elite players in Magnagora against the few elite players in the other 2 communties. First by quest inbalance. Then by nerfing skills. Then by direct divine intervention. Then by recriuting enemies from other ire games to come play against us. Then by quest ambush, (which is changing quests in midstream and telling us after its too late to do us any good.) Then by forcing us into a war that united all of the nonMagnagoran forces against us in near unity. I AM NOT SAYING ANY OF THIS IS WRONG. I am saying that the effect of a lot of this both real and percieved is that we are getting punished harshly for our sucesses. I didnt play this game to be a beaten on when I and my team win. I LIKE to win. It is a practical certainty that members of the staff in the game are against Magnagora, period. I am not talking role play here I'm talking personal issues. Lisaera to all appearances DESTROYED MAGNAGORA'S NEXUS RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. Only after a fully guilded player of roughly level 50 and might that indicated credit purchase suicided publically did she mention it was still safe. ( I am personally aware you can not suicide a character that has purchased credits but I am also sure he tried and Ive never seen him since.) I am leaving simply because I am seeing what looks like the disintegration of what I like about this game- the people. I respect admire and like my friends here. I have no desire to see them suffer thus. As I said in game on shout Good Luck, Estarra I wish you well, Im outta here.
Imadis.

I assure you that Lisaera would have returned the nexus no matter whether the whole of Magnagora had threatened suicide or nobody had blinked an eyelid.

We have never 'recruited' players from anywhere else. We do not unbalance quests for or against any one side, and we have never 'nerfed' skills.

If you feel that Magnagora has suffered because of these things, then potentially it has been lucky to start with unfair advantages. I am aware that many of our best players are Magnagorans, but I assure you we would never take that into consideration unless it was going to make the game less fun for both sides of the conflict. But I do understand that sometimes it seems the divine are against you. I assure you I've heard the same from all three cities at different times.

Sorry to see you go.

Meh, now you'll never get me back for killing your refiller.

Farewell...

You cannot suicide if you bought credits.

Anyway, take care Imadis. Hope you find a place when you'll feel more in home then Lusternia.

I do believe he explained that he knew you could not do that.

I'm sorry to see you go, again, one of my favorite players is leaving. Visaeris, Rexali, you, one or two others.

I swear we should band together and take over the world.
