Actually I don't mind the room effect, I just am not quite sure why its MAGICAL damage, the descriptions sounds like I'm getting crushed to me.
Consequently, if it is crushing damage already, that means it does over 3800 damage per hit (by logical extrapolation with my resistances and armour) because as is, it does 1200 to me.
Its really annoying to get hit with 6000 damage in 2 seconds from 3 people, but hey, I wouldn't care, if it was crushing.

Does boulderblast only only hit enemies? The Aquamancer's equivalent, hailstorm, hits everyone in the room so some people are relunctant to use it in team fighting. If boulderblast only hits enemies that doesn't seem to make sense since you can't do the same for hailstorm.

It is not magical damage. It's part blunt, part cutting, and part poison. Note that armour is not as effective against this attack as it is against weapons.
