Tuek locks his arms about you and carries you up into the trees.
3212h, 2104m, 2372e, 2p xk-
Tuek takes a long drag off his pipe.
3212h, 2104m, 2372e, 2p xk-
You may eat another herb.
outr yarrow
eat yarrow
3212h, 2104m, 2372e, 2p xk-
You remove 1 yarrow, bringing the total in the Rift to 208.
3212h, 2104m, 2372e, 2p xk-
You eat a yarrow sprig.
3212h, 2104m, 2372e, 2p xk-
You hear the sound of tinkling silver bells and see a ball of light bobbing in
the air. As the ball of light floats away, you are compelled to run after it,
and the forest seems to blur around you.

Cmon, you can be wisped by flying too......lets see some more restrictions on wisp, thats just not fair. how about malkuth stopping it? and how did I run through the trees like the description
Unknown2005-01-12 15:17:41
Tuek is the type of player that finds (it's not a bug, but still cheap as all hell wink.gif) and abuses the hell out of them until they're fixed.
Unknown2005-01-12 15:22:00
And how is that a bug? I don't see why - using the current description and general working knowledge of wisp - why wisping you while not on the ground should work any different from wisping in a different situation.

This is not to say that I think wisp is perfect as it is, I'll save my opinion on that, I am just adding in my opinion on this particular aspect of the issue.
Murphy2005-01-12 15:24:48
I was on a monolith, and got lifted into trees. monoliths should work from ground up
Unknown2005-01-12 15:28:56
Quidgyboo, you think lifting someone to trees/tell buddy wisp now/buddy wisps is anything BUT cheap?
Elryn2005-01-12 15:35:51
Cheap, but effective. And I found out wisp can be resisted as well. huh.gif
Unknown2005-01-12 15:37:39
I told you there was away around monoliths. But if you shield, seize is stopped. Also, I put myself in risk, since I'm just asking to be hexagrammed. Also, this strategy really only works on Ethereal, because it is entirely forest, and relatively small. It isn't cheap, you just shouldn't be sitting in enemy territory unshielded, because that is just stupid. Also, malkuth gives you a chance to resist wisp, Bricriu resisted it.
Unknown2005-01-12 15:38:50
How about shield stop wisp? That'd be nice wink.gif.
Unknown2005-01-12 15:39:20
I'll just put it this way; I'd give up beckon+Hermit+Catacombs in a heartbeat for wisp+flow.

I agree, and I think it would simplify things. Just make it shield that stops it, and not monolith.

Monolith stops wisp. Shield stops seize.

Furthermore, you CANNOT balance combat around teams, especially mixes of classes. This was shown in other realms as well, there is always abilities across classes that combine in absolutely evil ways. Kaicripple + Vivisect anyone? Enfeeble + absolve anyone? How about instead of seizing then lifting, I order you with my pooka to follow me, and instantly flow away? But really, my main point is that combat cannot be balanced for group combat, because there is always unstoppable combinations.
Unknown2005-01-12 15:54:17
Especially group combat from a distance. Fun stuff.

Oh. Wait. Only one class in the game can kill so easily from a distance.

How about Flow works like Hermit tarot, and loses your entourage? wink.gif
Terenas2005-01-12 16:12:09
How about Magi can't keep summoning right after you resisted without using up any eq since it already goes through shield altogether.
Unknown2005-01-12 16:15:39
See? You switched up tactics midway, and my tactic no longer works. Adapt rather then whine. It had an easy counter, a Geomancer and/or Hexagram.

Not to mention through monolith.

And here I was thinking that the general opinion was that Celestines/Nihilists were overpowered. Heh.

I didn't say cheap, I said bug. I don't care how cheap a tactic is or isn't. If someone resorts to calling it cheap it just means they are frustrated that they can't seem to get around it.

Everyone thinks everyone is overpowered. Is there a group that someone -won't- complain about?
