QUOTE(Rhysus @ Jan 14 2005, 11:39 AM)
I knew perfectly well about Jerah's agreements. We spoke about them at length, and I was completely informed about everything that took place. I also agreed with the actions. But, again. None of this was contingent upon any absolute treaty. That was my only point. It was an agreement, and as much as could be done, was done. You know how things are in Celest, Dumihru. I imagine that's largely why you abandoned the city. But there was certainly no lack of effort made by those who -could- provide assistance.

I realize that the latter portion of that reply was aimed at putting someone else down in an attempt to shift the focus and also the blame. What I began to wonder, and part of why Dumihru left, is when Rhysus will realize that finding a scapegoat for the things that go wrong, while taking the credit for the successes, will help his image but is only going to hurt any organization that he leads. Celest does have a lot of willing and capable citizens who spare no effort for the city and its allies. And in all honesty, they deserve a better leader.
But I guess this is why Lusternia is an interesting lesson in politics.

She's talking to Thoril, not you. No need to apologize.Â

But she quoted Thorgal.

He knows, he was kidding.

I knew I liked something about you, Dumi. Let's all band together and call ourselves the scapegoats of Rhysus.

Actually, great pentagram lasts five minutes exactly, not three. I did have the fade message highlighted - I did that as soon as I was asked to come put one up for the raid. I'm still unsure what happened there and I've gone over my logs several times trying to figure it out. Meh?
That particular raid was filled with errors. Somehow, it was given to me to pick the coven location. We had two flamed monolith sigils that I suggested be prepared for the raid, or I don't think we would have had them - one for the coven group, one for Gorgulu. The one for the coven group was dropped prematurely. The coven group relocated not once but twice, something I would have thought should have been figured out and drilled into the coven group's heads prior to being on Nil.
I recall a hectic moment at the final location when the coven group was fumbling around sigils trying to get a flame attached to the one monolith. Dumi, or any of the coven should remember this. Or the time I spent in the group instructing everyone to sit, so as not to be beckoned out. I was rather surprised how few knew to do this.
It wasn't exactly a moment filled with competence in general.
Anyhow, yes, I'm really proud for those few who kept trying to honor Celest's side of the agreement/alliance/handshake/whatever, and also somewhat sad at the overall state of Celest. It's in bad shape, always has been, and it's been slow to improve. I just have to wait it out and do what I can to help. That or go the way of so many others I've known by quitting the game entirely or changing teams. It's only for a handful of people and the general coolness of the Celestine guild concept (imo) that I haven't left as well. Having seen so many others leave, it makes me wonder how many others players are near to giving in - and this isn't a very good situation for the city or game.
Perhaps we'll have an event where Celest loses city status, and the guilds get split up and shuffled around? Or lost entirely? I can almost see a second Pool destruction. Eh.

Not really on topic anymore.. But my rl freind used to be in Celest and said one of the reasons she left was because she kept dying to Magnagorans.
Of course I got mad at her.. I mean in school if our football team lost to another the team members don't just shuffle sides because of that. It but the people behind the players are focused on being the best or most powerful and don't care about how silly their players moves seem.
That's why, although she has threatened due to a certain person in the city *cough* Kaileigh will never willingly leave her city or guild.. or race for that matter. She works work with what she has.
