Why do we have safe rooms if we have the Avenger System for PK?

No smartass comments, I want a straight answer, I see far too many people abuse it. There's grace, innocence for newbies, portals for newbies to run to, why do we make it so people can instigate fights and run to a safe room, where they continue to taunt?

Because all the Avenger means is that the entire population of Serenwilde can only kill me once each before having to wait. :/

Don't see why he shouldn't. No reason to kick him from it, just because you can't kill him while he's there. You could always try to insult him back, rather than just kill someone for a slight.

Killing someone for an insult is really quite extreme when you actually look at what you're doing

I actually spend very little time in the Portal for hiding purposes; I use Magnagora for that. But Erion is enemied to all three cities, I think

I've seen it used in other ways, don't bring that Erion/Shiro special olympics into this thread. Like, I've been attacked, start to fight back, they run to the portal. Exit portal, attack, enter portal. That kind of BS, along with Erion's 'I have everlasting Grace in the Portal so you're all little bitches' makes me question the relevance of such safe rooms.

I rather agree Aris, with the Avenger, Grace, and innocence, we don't need magical "safe" rooms. If they decide to stay, they need to be fixed like the safe rooms in other realms, where if you committ a hostile action, you'll find yourself unable to enter safe rooms for a short period of time.

I still don't think we need them, there are plenty of places to hide. Inside of cities, standing on a monolith in some unheard of place, going off plane, whatever.

Or perhaps when someone dies, they would instead of coming to right before the Portal, wake inside it (like when you start playing for the very first time) - they'd be perfectly safe inside the Portal, but once they left, they'd have their normal Grace period to run away but not be able to get back into the safe room. Inside the Portal, you can read news, but not do much else (no hiding there and shouting insults, for one).

Hey. If the damn thing is going to be my nexus, I want a safe room. I've been jipped out of two skills and a trade skill, and lack any definitive source of power. I want a bloody safe room. You all can camp the damn Nexus for the same effect.

EDIT: I realized my post had very little reasoning behind it. Alright. Shiro gets annoying, realizes that, omgaw, Erion brings MagnagoranA and MagnagoranB to kill him. So he sits at the Pool of Stars. Monolith, guards, statues, the kit and kaboodle. How the hell is that different from me sitting at the PoF shouting crap? Essential safe zone, really. I'm not able to run in and kill him there.

And the agression-enter-safe-room thing. Do eet. Crap like that just pisses me off, even I don't do it.

And, Shiro, seriously, you're getting really tiring. I swear to god you must be that sophmore girl in my A.P. World History class, who asked if Julius Caesar rode in a train (IE steam engine; you know, "Choo Choo!"), because we were talking standard gauge and the relation of train track width to the stepping stones in roman roads for crossing the sewage-filled streets being equal to the width of the axle of the chariot. If there were ever a contest for people with anti-social brain cells, my gods you'ld win grand prize. If you ever manage to pull the cellular energy together to form a complete synapse (nonetheless a sentence), please, let us know. I'll give you a cookie. And you didn't get 'jipped' out of anything. You roleplayed yourself into a position where every third person wants to kill you. Hell, even Vis didn't hide at the portal and shout until he had to sleep so he could shout again. This game doesn't support the idea of rogue very well (with nexuses being what they are) in the first place.
