Well, fundamentally, RP is really just doing what your character would. I have no problem believing that Amaru the character would kill people, and I think it entirely possible that he believes he is protecting something sacred to his race that non-loboshi shouldn't partake of.
It makes sense to be willing to teach others about something you hold sacred (the loboshi masters), but not want them to actually touch it unless they shared your reverence (Amaru). Because you respect someone's wisdom does not necessitate that you be unwilling to disagree with them on something you consider a fundamental point, which could explain why Amaru would seemingly go against the implied will of the loboshi masters. Of course, I'm reading alot in, since I haven't heard Amaru make that argument yet.
The only problem I see is Amaru bringing non-loboshi along with him. If you're fanatic enough to kill any outsiders over this (and that is rather fanatical), I find it hard to justify making exceptions. Amaru stated he did it because there weren't other loboshi to take along, but that meshes badly with the rest of the RP. It would be much more realistic to just go in alone and die for what you believe in that situation.

Terentia delights in combat and is particularly partial to strategic,
large-scale warfare. She, however, is not a savage goddess and shows no
favor to those who love unrestrained bloodshed nor to those who create
conflict solely for the sake of violence. She loathes those who
excessively indulge their turbulent natures, for they are those who have
sullied the good name of combat.
All who strengthen themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually
through honorable means and guide others in doing the same find favor with
Terentia. Though the Taint beguiles those who fall prey to its siren call
with illusions of strength, She regards the inability to resist the
Taint's temptation as the most contemptible form of weakness. Any who
actively fights to cleanse the land of this crutch for the weak minded is
esteemed most by Her. She shows little regard for those who have succumbed
to the Taint, considering them significant only long enough to destroy
them. As a result, She displays utter disdain for those of the viscanti
race.

Hearking back to near the beginning of the thread, where Amaru said that the Master may have said that Guido was worthy to reach for enlightenment, but Amaru proved him unworthy...why dosen't Amaru kill the master and take his place? OBVIOUSLY Amaru is a much more worthy Master of the Monestary than the one that is there, if he is able to so easily supplant those the current Master believes could reach enlightenment. That would make sense, wouldn't it, if it is simply a matter of 'I can kill you, thus you suck and aren't worthy.'

I'd like to see the quest changed somewhat to only allow whoever opened the portal (Greeted the master after receiving the blessings) acquire the scroll found at the end of it, assuming the scroll is in there. Assuming the blessings now last until you enter the Tosha Pits.. as soon as you greet the master to enter the Tosha Pits your blessings should fade, and maybe you should have another coded status. Only that person with the said status should be able to pick up the scroll at the end (Or just give it to the master), since technically the master shouldn't acknowledge the person he didn't bless.
Perhaps if the master didn't give the blessing to the said person and they gave him the scroll they'd be enemied for tresspassing into the sacred pits, and it'd go something like this
Master Quelle says, "Well d... what is this? You are not (Insert Blessed Person)!" blah blah blah.. enemy them.
Doesn't even have to be along those lines. Just don't let the person who didn't gain the final blessing of the Master hand in the scroll.

I had PKS on Guido and would gain little satisfaction from killing him. I see killing as means to an end; part of my duty. If you're implying it was selfishly motivated, what's in it for me? The incredible exp? Fame? Glory? More like a waste of herbs.
If I'd have known there was only four (three? five?) Magnagorans present I would have tried it alone, but I thought there were more. It's over now, anyhow.

Thing about Guido is sure he makes threats, but has he ever come through on a single one of them? He's like some demented homeless guy that people like Amaru enjoy beating on their way back from work.

Yeah, again I didn't read this topic...
It seems to me like guidos just bitching about dying.
Guido, I'm almost sure I know your master plan, and its not bad rp for pretty much anyone to try to stop you.

The only change i'd like to this to the quest is this:
Only make the gateway usable ONCE. Also, if the person who didn't have the blessings tries to go in, the Master stops them. "You are not worthy, turn back!", or something. Only the blessed person can go in, and all of the people following the blessed person. After that it closes.

But if has already tried to hurt your city, then there is more reason to kill him.
Edit: Yeah, I was in a bad mood when I posted earlier.
You shouldn't leave. If you keep trying stuff, eventually one will work - and even if it doesn't, anything can make for good rp.
Think about it - you could rp trying to bring Amarus actions to the knowledge of Celest, and get him kicked out... or not, that was a bad Idea, but you could do something with it.
Just try to look on the brightside, even if things look bleak.

And that's my problem with IRE games. Someone slights you? The answer is, of course, to kill them. Death means little in the IRE games, and it's dealt and answered back and forth.

Oh please, don't tell Rhysus I took a group and killed Guido and a bunch of Magnagorans. The consequences could be drastic indeed!

Sadly, this is entirely true. It also encourages people to focus on "Oh no, I lost experience!" rather than "you killed me! I could have been erased from existence forever!" type thinking.
There's no real workaround other than making death permanent (NO) or just trying to force people to be mature and RP properly (uh, yeah, right.)

Heh, I did indeed contact Ethelon about how Amaru had 'taken advantage of his guild position to serve his own personal agenda'. I got...
Ethelon tells you, "Ehhhhh."
I replied with a witty Guidoesque™ comment, which he ignored. You can't blame him for that, though, as 94% of Guidoesque™ comments are either ignored or replied to with by 'omg u r rong stfu kthxbai!'.
(No, I have nothing against Ethelon. Although i'd like to see the Handmaiden BURN)

Amaru is now officially a retard and should be emasculated with a dull spoon. You really wonder why your life became hell in Achaea? The same damn thing youre doing here. Seriously, I had a little pity, and a bit of respect for you man, but this blows it. I want to see the Avenger upgraded so it takes into account every single person who struck a blow, and then have it peace em for a full year when vengence is called on em after hearing this. I love my blood and gore just as much as the next guy, but seriously, Lusternia is starting to suck with all the hormonally challenged people running around chopping people up, and next to no real RP going on, save for bandwagon RP (events and the like). Heh, Achaea has become a better place to roleplay in the past month or so than here, with the overpopulation of idiots, and that says a lot.
Progression of a Mud:
Dedicated playerbase->The weenies invade->The mass murder freaks invade->The blatantly OOC I dont give a flying f*cks invade->Said groups drive away dedicated player base->Mud becomes a cesspool
No matter how hard the divine try to stop it by enforcing harsher PK rules, and introducing quest emphasizing events, the idiots, asshats, and Cows™ will still f*ck it up
Bah, I may just be in a pissy mood right now, but what I said has a lot of truth to it.
Amaru2005-01-16 12:08:33
Hey, life was great in Achaea until I got outcitied, enemied, excommed, maggoted and shrubbed. I'm perfectly capable of roleplay. I have the odd debate with my enemy, try to fit my role as much as possible, but when there's a choice between debate and combat- if I wanted a debate I'd study politics or theology. Come on...
