All those pregnancy ideas, making babies for comms or for fun. I don't like any of it.

Someone mentioned giving birth to NPCs? Wouldn't we just end up having a few dozen denizens walking around with "He is loyal to blabla"? If we wanted them to be playable characters next time, how about:

-you go through all of that
-if successful, you have created a child
-you customise the child somewhat, eg description, age, race
-a new player joins the game and decides to choose an already created character instead of customising his own
-he gets to choose from a list
-say hi to your new kid

But then, there's that stupid problem of the kid suiciding after all that trouble to get him born.

Therefore, I don't think this is that good an idea. It might work in The Sims if it was a MUD, but not in a world like this. Most people choose current existing players as their children anyway. Or we could make it so people can LOOK FOR FAMILY and not have any choice in the matter since (as mentioned) you can't choose your family... Which would annoy people if they ended up being children/parents of someone who had been griefing them. Which brings us back to letting people have a choice... *head hurts*

In avalon the if you wanted to be pregnant you just prayed to the gods and the allowed you to have a baby. You then gave birth to an npc baby.

And then what happened? I don't play Avalon.

That would be incredibly wrong.. You'd get a numerous amount of responses from the Divine if you went to one and said "I want to have a baby. Can You help me with that please?"

You know, that actually happens. I'd think that would lead to some good RP if done right.
