Choose your race

Back to The Polling Place.

Making an in-game census would be tad too difficult for me, at least not something I wish to bother doing. smile.gif A poll like this one is much simpler, and incidentally, the results seem to be a very close comparison to the actual in-game population (meaning it gives a general idea of how many people from the different races you may probably expect to see in realms).

Though, I just noticed... whoever tampered with the poll? I am sure Immortal wasn't a race adventurers can normally pick, nor a poll choice. Unless the racial choice was hidden somewhere on the character creation. If that is the case... Can I reincarnate into an Immortal? tongue.gif

Haha, I'm of the human minority, it seems.

Oh and Eldril, Ashia used to be a faeling. I kid you not.

As a Magnagoran, I love lobo, simply because I can keep putre up with no overall health loss, and with flex/lich I get up to 17 strength at night, 18 with fortuna. I still hit for around 900 with broadswords, though. Oh.. and where's the shrub race?
Shiri2005-01-26 00:52:24
Lucidian and Dracnari tied for top non-special race (yet). Interesting.
Unknown2005-01-26 02:41:54
But why Lucidian?
Summer2005-01-26 03:02:16
Maybe an illustration:

Lucidian + Low level moondancer guildskills
(Assuming that guildskills are +1 level regen)

Dawn to dusk:
Level 2 health and mana (outdoors only)
Level 1 ego
Level 1 health (if at a mystic tree in commune)
Level 1 ego (3 coven members)
Level 1 health (river)

Dusk to midnight:
Level 1 mana
Level 1 health (if at a mystic tree in commune)
Level 1 health (river)

Midnight to dawn:
Level 2 health and mana (outdoors only)
Level 1 mana
Level 1 health (if at a mystic tree in commune)
Level 1 health (river)

Of course not all of them are moondancers, but hey, it's still level 2 health and mana regen from midnight to dusk, and night's so much shorter than day. There's probably some who picked them because of their interest in Hallifax and Gaudiguch too.

More Merian than Viscanti, though, that surprised me. Who's that other Furrikin then? (Let me guess, Bris?)

Nope I'm the other furrikin.

4 lucidians? More than I expected, I rarely see any around. Where are my brothers out there? Oh, right, you're all tainted scum.

Anyway, I chose lucidian because... wait for it... they rock. Get it, rock?

As soon as I heard crystalline being of pure logic, there was no going back. Didn't give any thought to the stats, which is why I'm now the worst Paladin out there, unless we've got a faeling I don't know about.

I'm a Furrikin Paladin I think I might be just a little worse off than you.
Faethan2005-01-26 04:52:22
I'm a Merian even though I'm Serenwilde, but I have been considering a change to Mugwump because I like the faster EQ. I don't think it'll actually end up happening though.
Aris2005-01-26 04:57:47
Don't. Mugwumps blow.

ALL HAIL THE LITTLE GUY
Unknown2005-01-26 12:19:19
My first character was a Merian, my top secret alt's race is censor.gif , but it isn't a very popular race. After all, you don't see many Krokani in Serenwilde.

EDIT: D'oh.

cmon Aris its not that bad is it?

I enjoy being a mugwump I get 4 illusions in between supersling balance, not to mention faster staffing.

Only problem is tankiness, but you learn the art of surviving

dwarves are great, cant say it enough. Drinking, fighting, hititng on women, being crude, wooo, gotta love it!! Love them elf ladies, wooowooo! that reminds me, dag, we gotta party sometime in the game. whenever i deicde to ge tof fmy rear and come in.
Typhus2005-01-26 19:09:35
My first character was Viscanti, for the many reasons

1. Joining the Geomancers Guild, and since no other Iron Realms game had had uber verions of the same race tied to a Guild, I had to try it

2. Nice little taint regeneration (lvl3), which means I can almost regenerate anywhere, and on some major hunting grounds, Spectre Island, Glom, Magnagora, ect..

3. Red eyes. Who doesn't love red viens and eyes?

4. The social outcast role, as survivor.

I voted Viscanti because I didn't bother reading your post.

Anyway, I chose Tae'dae because they are totally sweet.

The List of Cool Tae'dae:
Guido
Andes
Raguel
Olan
Daganev
Gelthrae
Gwynn

(Okay, those are the only Tae'dae, whatever)

EDIT: Added Gwynn, I don't know how I missed him!

You missed me. sad.gif
Shiri2005-01-27 18:54:38
You been away ages, that's why.
Lunarisiil2005-01-27 20:07:59
I chose Loboshigaru for the roleplay aspect of it. They seek out packs, usually, and I have sought out other Loboshigaru in the game. Wolves are known for howling at the moon, while stories of werewolves show that those of wolfen-kind are especially drawn, and react to the moon. That helped me in the roleplay aspect to choose the Moondancers for my guild. But I really enjoy thinking and acting like what a wolf might do.

Also, the level two health regeneration is very nice. And I have a ring enchanted with Perfection to make up for the low mana.
Unknown2005-01-27 20:10:30
I agree, I do so like the regen. And we were -going- to start a purebred family, but now since the only thing flowing through my veins is sap..
Lunarisiil2005-01-27 21:43:56
Kind of hard to have a purebred family when you're engaged to a mugwump... Or wait... Is she a dwarf? Well, either way, she's not a Loboshigaru, so that's not really plausible.

Now if the rest of us were to go and get ourselves shrubbed, we could start a purebred hedge or something... tongue.gif
Shiri2005-01-28 01:12:37
Ouch, that was harsh.

Still looking for 4 more Furrikini siblings, if anyone's interested. I promise the sisters I have now are more bearable than I am, honest. biggrin.gif
